Long story short, weekend wasn't great...Father's day was a day to feel defeated.
Saturday I did a transmission fluid change on the van...at Disney last week it was bugging the fuck out and the fluid looked bad. Not a serviceable thing either so you have to drop the pan to change the fluid and filter.
On the Yukon I felt like I had missing coolant, although in hindsight it might have been a bubble in the system. Added this blue devil head gasket thing to it to help and followed their abridged directions that suggest but don't make mandatory to pull the thermostat, which i couldn't have done anyway because it's one piece with the hose neck...ended up causing an overheating issue with the truck I didn't have before and I'm stuck purging the entire system to get rid of air and the fucking crud that the blue devil turns into.
Had to drive to Miami that night for a birthday for my Aunt so I scooped up J at work with Z in the back and headed down in the Audi. Hit some road debris and got a blowout...precariously changed it on a busy highway on the center emergency lane with a few close calls...make it to the party. At midnight head home only to have the spare blow out on me...in both cases I'm grateful to have kept the car under control as it was the front driver tire. We call uber to get us home asap instead of waiting on AAA. Only problem...Uber can't tell we're on the highway so everyone is routing to over the big concrete wall in the neighborhoods and cancelling the trip on us. Finally I decide to limp the car a mile off the highway on the steel of the spare so they can get to us. We do, we get picked up, we get home...I plan to load up one of the original rims and tire and head back. Not so fast...knock at door and local PD grills me on my car and if I know it's abandoned on the side of the road. Yep yep...just robbed a bank, thank you...well the PD where it was left decided to have it towed within an hour of me leaving it. The number they give me, the guy tells me he doesn't have an Audi...maybe driver ain't there yet...go get the car if you can beat him...so in the V, I head down at 3am...nope, car gone...have to wait until Monday to get it. I get to the yard and the bumper is punctured and hanging off the driver side of the car...hook and book style...owner of the place is like naw, police impound you gotta pay $187 or I charge you per day to leave it here...OR I can tow it to my buddy "for free" and he can fix the bumper for you on your dime. So I had to pay for a tow I didn't want, and now I get to pay for bumper that can be put on the car. Fucking Hialeah...slimy greased palm Cuban city...
Already have an exchange with PD internal affairs about protocol on the tow...I get it, car didn't look driveable and who would assume owner is a guy headed home to come back with a tire? I also have a case open with the State in a formal complaint against the tow truck company to pay for the bumper repair.
then yesterday some BS with B and the kid that has me worried again...which makes all the car shit no big deal. House full of kids on summer break with no real bed time right now...
Some high school level of bad luck series of events.

Yeah, the good news is they are saying the pricing shouldn't be TOO different but the delay in manufacturing has me concerned. I may not get into the car until November at this rate. We'll see.
BTW, kurt, did you purchase the differential option for your ride? I'm not sure if I should add that as an option to the Sportback.
