I did realize that taking it away and then giving them the 3 back it kinda was a pointless punishment after you guys poked fun.
I guess that's the fun of being a parent...constantly thinking about if you're going about things correctly.
I also realized that by removing that element I took away another element to use as leverage based on behavior.
If you got nothing to lose you're less inclined to be afraid of consequences.

I went to Harbor Freight to pick up a watch case opener and while there, I impulse bought one of those little "helping hands" alligator clips on the articulated arms with the magnifying glass that you use for soldering shit.
So I'm checking out with my $13 worth of crap and the lady asks for my phone number and I tell her "no thank you" because I really don't need to be in their system.
But then she goes into her corporate mandated response about how they have a 90-day warranty on all their tools and being in the system whatever whatever easier to return blah blah blah.
And so I tell her that I'm at Harbor Freight so my expectation is already really low. Like, I'm expecting to get exactly one use out of this shit before it breaks and I throw it away. And if I get more than that initial use, I'll be happy as fuck and really be getting my monies worth. But I have no pretense that it will actually happen. So the point of a 90-day warranty is pretty remote and that's why I don't need to be in your computer system.
But that was all in my head. Took that shit and went home. Got one use out of the caseback tool and it's still together. So money well spent.
