There’s also pot to be had on every street corner. Hiking is unrivaled.
Seattle has the space needle, Bruce Lee and Kurt contains grave. That’s about it.
You’ll also see more 3G TLs per Sq/mile than anywhere. You will be surprised at how all the dashes are intact.

Technically, I use Google Home.
But just as a one stop shop for the three things in my house that are "Smaht". Chromecast, my Honeywell thermostat, and a smart socket.
And I don't use it that often, usually just going into the respective apps to control the individual devices.

I guess I'm in the minority with home electronics. I want less, not more. I don't want automated anything...
I think uber eats is fucking stupid. I want to take my wife out to dinner by having dinner delivered to my house.
I guess the silver lining is the wait at cheesecake factory will be under an hour on a Friday night now.
I want to get up to change the thermostat and I don't mind using a remote to change the channel.
Now git off my lawn.

I have a Google Home and a few Echo Shows/Dots around the house but I don't really use them for automation all that much anymore. They play nicely with my Ring Doorbell/cameras and Nest thermostat but that's about all I do for now. That Chamerblain MyQ Smart Garage control was on sale for Prime Day but I didn't pull the trigger

I like tech, but I don't want to invite it all over my home.
The computers are taking over, but it's us giving them our programming and then handing the control over.
Skynet has many names.

Or, text your wife/kid and have then turn on the lights/change the temp. Just as easy without paying a corporation to give up your privacy.
Safety Car
You mean text them from the same phone that's already tracking your location and stealing your privacy?
Safety Car
Yes, thats a necessary invasion of privacy.

I didn't set out to have a smaht home but I've slowly worked my way into it. Like a hermit crab moving into a Noxzema jar.
I started with a light switch for my porch light. Didn't really want/need it to be internat connected... Found some programmable Honeywell switches that don't talk to anything but do let me program on/off time as well as have manual control at the switch. Neat.
Then I was working on my yard sprinklers and thought it would be convenient to be able to control the zones from my phone rather than running back and forth to the car hole. Orbit B-Hyve. Is internat connected but doesn't integrate with Home/Alexa/AskJeeves/SteveJobsClammyCorpse/Whatever.
Then got the thermostat which is internat connectable and has actually been handy a couple times. I've been able to set it on an indefinite hold at a warm temp while we've been out on vacation, then pulled it up on the phone and turned it back to cool as we hit the airport so it'd be nice when we got home.
Added a couple smart plugs for the Christmas tree lights and for the floor lamps to make it seem like the house is occupied when out of town. Those are the ones I've automated the most, just out of perverse entertainment. I named the Christmas tree timer "Shrine of Cthulhu". So I can walk through the house and yell at my phone, "OK GOOGLE, TURN ON THE SHRINE OF CTHULHU!" and <blink> on come the lights.

Still running like a champ! 190K so I'll be due for another TB/WP soonish. I may or may not move on at some point to something with more room though. Considering an SUV or truck to daily and then having a fun weekend toy...but I'm at least a year or two out from that.

i wanted a BMW or Tesla or something but that would involve car payments. So I decided a 06-08 TSX will do or maybe a CUV... I’ve even thought about 3G TLS..
i can get a decent TSX out here for about 4-5k
TLS 6-8k

I also picked up these storage racks:
They're each about $50 cheaper then the regular price. I already have one of the 4x8 overhead units in the garage and love it. Really looking forward to getting the second one.
I kinda want to get this, but dont want to spend any more money:
