XR is the brushless line, still 20V like non-XR
All 20V work with the higher rated batteries
The cells are wired in series as a 20V array then in parallel with other 20V series arrays for higher rated batteries
The config on higher rated batteries can switch to full series
Thus pushing voltage rating higher, but at same amps
Or 20V arrays in parrallel at higher amps
Thus the name Flex Volt.
