Oh yea. Sister in law came over with her kids. Her 2 year old was outside playing, came back with something around his mouth. I’m like wtf did he get into, my sister in law was looks like chocolate. Ummm I don’t have any chocolate
The look on her face she goes don’t you clean up your dog shit? Don’t you teach your kid not to eat dog shit? TF!
then my 5 year old goes, we had Oreos from the pantry. Little shit heads hiding snacks from me.

It's not Bluetooth but has a little wifi router in it so you essentially connect via a mini local network. Depending on how long it keeps power on, the signal is just strong enough that I can hit it from inside the house to pull files from.
And you can always delete files, or unplug it, whenever you go to Mexico.

Counterpoint: do weeds, kids.
There is always a demand for $5 blowies behind the dumpster at CVS. Even better if you get to the point where you don't mind being a human punching bag too.

Never thought I'd do it...but after yet another ethanol murdered small engine, I'm going 40V trimmer/edger...I'm fucking fed up. Crapsman, no self respecting lawn maintenance place works on anymore...Husqvporno takes forever to get parts and I'm not sure what it'll cost to bring back to life. I actually offer up for free my old blower and 4 cycle power head the other night...just to get them out of the garage but not in a landfill.
By some odd twist of fate I just realized both my attachments are Ryobi Expand-It capable...and the lawn I cut now is TINY.
Let's see what the future is all about.

It's so frustrating being mechanically inclined...taking all these tiny carbs apart...changing out fuel lines and plugs and new gas that I keep treated with stabl...
only to have them not turn on or bog when you give them throttle.
I literally have 0% success rate but I can do my own timing belt and valve adjustment on a J32 without issue.
Fuck me.

What happened to the engines? Is there no ethanol free gas in FL at all?
Team Owner
Have you considered something with a Honda engine? Not cheap, but pretty reliable. Though I have no idea what ethanol would do to it.
If youre going battery, I’m sure you’ll be fine, especially since you don’t have a huge yard anymore. But batteries only last so long also... and they’re pricey to replace.

the battery cost is a good point...I hadn't really thought about that...I guess I figure my track record at this point is about 3 years...although my honda pressure washer did last me 10 before it wouldn't idle right.
There's ethanol free not too far from where I live..."recreational gas" as they call it. maybe I'll just do a $80 2 cycle head and buy ethanol free gas.

actually, now that I think about it...that makes a lot of sense...if I spend $80 on a small 2 cycle ryobi and it lasts me 3 years...vs $150 on the 40V lithion...and then $100 every year or so...
and then if I buy ethanol free fuel from the start...I might go LONGER than 3 years.
Hmmm...gave me something to consider.
I was kinda curious to see how it felt to do it with battery.
I got tired of hauling my dumb 16" 30 year old dull hedge trimmer around on extension cords to do our hedge work....finally decided to say fuck it hand handle business.
I know @thoiboi would be proud. Opted for DeWalt since I had the battery from the impact I could share with it.
At this point I have Dewalt, Milliwalkayyyy, and Makita chargers going at all times I don't want to be married to any brand for any particular tool.

Why $100 every year, with the lithion one? I’d imagine you’d easily get 3-5 years use with a battery.
I have a lithion makita drill... came with two batteries. first one died after about 3.5 years. Second one is still going, after about 5.5 years. And they both have seen a considerable amount of action.

Funny you mention that...my makita set did the same thing...one gave me that charger failure and was bricked...i bought 2 more i think...and the original one has been going for over 10 years now. I have the same rotation of 3 batteries between small impact, drill and fleshlight.
I meant every few years, not every year.
In which case if the batteries last THAT long then the Ryobi 40V might still be the viable option with only being used once a week or so in teh summer and then once every 3 weeks in the winter.

how long does it take that 40V battery to charge? That’s something to consider also.

If I couldn't do the edge and trim on one charge, I'm out...
I guess since I have the attachment already that are beat up, I'll buy the trimmer and use the powerhead to see how much battery it uses on a single cut.
Also, I usually cut my neighbor's yard because we look out for each other and they take the kids to school some days since they have a daughter the same age.

Stop being a fucking pussy J
Electric is where it's at
I just mowed down weeds that were 3-4ft high with the electric mower
It would bog down, but I lift to clear and right back to action
No restarting after a stall
It's brilliant for hard jobs
Plus the trimmer is fucking murder
Kills all, you're not losing shit against a gas trimmer

I will say that DeWalt is hit and miss with yard tools.. I went with Ryobi, but there are other good ones
