My entire relationship was a warning sign. We drank together a lot while married and the numb only got worse.
But, I am loyal and everything was copacetic. Steady intimacy and you can mask a lot of things. She did her things, I did my car stuff...
in the end, we got along well...like friends mainly. This helps with sharing parenting responsibilities now...
I wasn't in a rush to get married because my parents divorced when I was young and it impacted my view on it.
What a joke...now I'm divorced, after making a kid. I spent my entire youth thinking why couldn't they have worked it out...
joke's on me now.

Yeah, but in your case it sounds like it wasn't you who wanted the split- it was her. Nothing you can do about that, unless you bend over backwards and become exactly what she wants, which results in you not even being you anymore... and how long will that last until you say fuck it.
I look back now and see all the warning signs I chose to ignore at the time. Figured some of it was "completely normal", as I knew others who faced similar shit... turns out they're either divorced now or working towards it
I guess when over over half of marriages fail these days, it's better to look at the "odd balls" and not the status quo. Who woulda thought?

She had deeper and less obvious issues working against her...
I don't fault her for the choice, it freed me to find my own new path without having to ever let my loyalty and integrity come into question.
I'm now tasked with keeping her head above water for the well being of our daughter. All while juggling another relationship that isn't
easy going, and that's putting it mildly.
