Unfortunately no plaid, that's only available on GTI hatchback. This Mk6 Jetta GLI SEL has black "leatherette" seats with red stitching. They are phenomenally well suited to my ergonomics.
The 6spd DSG trans make the 3G Type S paddle-operated slushbox seem laughably incompetent. Shifts in this V-dub occur when you hit the paddle, not a full second after. Also there's not separate manual vs auto modes, it's naturally in auto until you flick the paddle and then it stays in manual until a small amount of time passes without full throttle or paddle action, then it reverts to auto seemlessly. If you leave it in auto, shift points are super low, like out-of-boost low, netting gentle ride and super gas mileage. But put a little more foot into it and it gets perky, then peppy, then rowdy very quickly. I did a couple pulls on an empty freeway last night, shifting into 5th at 110mph felt excellent.
S4: Find and price out a mint 18k miles, 1 local elderly owner whom half the dealership staff remembers, zero paintwork, full VAG dealership service dept records of zero problems, CPO S4. It will be a ☆wee☆ bit more than the $20k I paid for this People's Wagen.
APR Stage whatev: nope. I took out a 7 year loan and bought a 7 year warranty. The car is brilliant bone stock and Imma keep it that way. Hell, the brakes are so flippin' good I plan to only buy pads & rotors straight from VW I wear them out. The only mods I will do are stock-size wheels, blackout chrome trim, etc. Maybe add some sound deadening if new tires aren't quieter than the 4 year old age-hardened Potenzas that came from the factory.
So our 5 year anniversary is this Sunday. While on our walk this evening, wifey was like "why don't we try to rent a Lamborghini gallardo again like we did for the wedding?.. I was like "yeah.. sure. " So we called the place we rented from. The bruh on the phone was like "Bruh, this is last min, all I gots is an i8" so yeah.. no bro i'm good. We went on turo and found a guy who had a small collection of super cars. One being the SUPRA (Already booked this weekend...but..) another being a yellow 2017 R8 convertible and the other option being a 2020 Yellow NSX. So which one did we book for Sunday? The 2020 NSX. We enjoyed the Gallardo for 4 days. Being nearly the same vehicle, I didn't want to rent one again. Wanting to see if the NSX is worth all the hype. As for the SUPRA...... Well.. It's also rented for 3 or 4 days for my upcoming 35th Birthday. Wifey rented the supra for me as a birthday gift <3. It's my dream car so I'm thrilled to get behind the wheel of one. Honestly, would be the only vehicle I'd own to replace the TL. So here is the actual NSX we are renting and the Gallardo we rented 5 years ago.
