Trans started slipping approx. 8 thousand miles and 4 months later
Second drain and fill-in Sept/ D4
Third drain and fill-One week after 2nd drain and fill/D4
Fourth drain and fill-Two weeks later/DW-1
Fifth drain and fill-1 week later/DW-1+3rd and 4th Pressure switches+filter

Hmm.. So that means you have roughly:

55% DW1
24% D4
7% F
13% F

That's a lot of different fluids playing together, and they might not be playing nice.

Play it safe. Drain, fill DW1.. do this 4-5 times.

This will get you to roughly 85-89% DW1. Doing anymore will probably be a big waste.. just to get to ~95% would be 10 drain and fills. Also replace your ATF filter after the refills, I believe the 06 still has the accessible external filter. Play it really safe and get a aftermarket magnefine cooler if it revives.. first.. the fluid. Check back after the first drain and fill.

Also note the consistency of it coming out. Rethinking a bit.. DW1 will run thinner at temp than D4. Running thin is usually the culprit when it doesn't engage. Hmm.. well anyways.. I think the mega concoction is the real issue.. too thin and too thick where it shouldn't be, which runs up the temp. Anyways.. do the first drain and fill with DW-1 and report back. It should be enough to make an impact.. Report back.

 

Also, has it been pretty much issue free until recently since the last drain and fill?

 

It's actually been pretty much issue free since the second drain and fill. No issues until today, out of the blue, it just got steadily worse as I drove home.

I can't drive it as it is now. It's definitely not reliable and I just don't trust it. One of the shops I talked to said it could be due to internal filters getting clogged, which is causing the slipping. When I shut the car down, everything drops back down and settles. Drive it a little and everything gets stirred up and clogs again.

 

Yep, there is an internal screen filter north section of the valve body.. and that huge clunker on the side. You're not getting to the internal one without dropping the case, but the side one is only attached by a banjo fitting and a couple of bolts. I suggest changing it after all the drain and fills because it will continue to soak of the crap. Once the drain and fill is complete.. start fresh. Alternatively.. replace it now, drain and fill 4-5x.. let the new one soak up the crap for a little while and replace it again.
