Well, getting the new rims installed on the FX today. Should be nice.
Of course, this also means winter is here.

if it were me, i would get a quart of mobil1 5w-30 and put it in there. better to have the right amount of oil than care about mixing mobil1 and redline. Youre going to be draining it as soon as you get the new stuff in the mail.
On a side note though, I would make sure that if i was using oil and filters i had to order, i would have the next oil change ready in my garage before this point and maybe a spare quart or two of oil just in case. You never know when something like this is going to happen. Plus, I dont care (and i know people are going to disagree) how many miles oil companies say you can go without changing your oil, mine gets changes every 5000 miles religiously no matter what.

^^^ JJH didnt read your earlier post....are you burning oil?
I remember IHC warning me that the first time you put Redline in there you will burn almost as much and 1/2 a quart....since my first redline oil change was in 3000 miles, i didnt see any "missing" oil....
you encountering the same issue?

One if our local police departments ran amsoil synthetic and had problems with the cars burning (lots of) oil. They switched to royal purple and still had the same problem.
Since then they went back to dyno oil and the issue is gone.

I was running 5W-30, switching back to 5W-20 for the winter. My thought is that since the engine takes longer to reach operating temperature in the winter than it does in the summer, the thinner viscosity will yeild slighly better gas mileage for the short trips that I take combined with 235w tires instead of 255s and combined with Redline ATF which I will be doing a 1x3 with D4+type-F+lightweight type-f. I'm thinking that the combo of those 3 changes going into winter should help with my gas mileage, slightly.

fuuuu
WOW....you were gonna keep the oil in there for 10K miles? IMO thats a lottt....
i would change it every 5K miles....if you feel spending $60-70 per oil change per 5K miles is a lot just get Penn Plat or Mobil1 EP but 10K mile interval seems like a lot....
well if you are running redline just keep 5w20 in there as Redline is a thicker fluid than Penn Plat/Mobil1/RP....but if you are using any of the other fluids then switch back and forth between 5w20 and 5w30....
Yeah, this is coming off of my first Redline Oil change. Going up on 10k miles. I was about a quart shy of where I should be when I checked yesterday, so yes, I think I am burning a little bit of oil.

Full...as a rule, honestly, I'm not that comfortable with going any further than 5K between changes. I forgot once and did 7K and all the oil was still there so we probably COULD...
lmao, how are you supposed to be impressed by an oil.

Justn, the reason am not impressed with Redline is because within 3000 miles my oil % went down to 0....I spoke with Inaccurate and he was telling me how after doing the EGR delete, his did the same and that the TL ECU has no way of finding out the "real" oil %....
I check my oil every time I get gas and within 4500 miles the oil has become very dark...i remember mobil1 and even penn plat were still bright colored at 5000 miles....
so am not impressed as am paying 2 or 3 times as much for Redline and seems like the oil is not lasting as well....again this is just me and my theory....what the hell do i know about oil anyway

Know something funny...I might be buying that and not even realize it. I want to say it costs $26.46 or something like that.
