Not wrong but not something I would do.

The TL is a perfect blend between sport and luxury.

SiQ.. I'm still working on the special project, been busy.

STi is great.. but it's not in the same class as the TL.. If you want the best of both worlds.. get a CTS-V.

Oh, and I just stumbled across your 105k service diy Props man, I consider myself pretty handy/mechanically inclined, but when the time comes I will not be attempting that.

fixed, doesnt mean i dont love the tl-s but perfect it is not.

im not worried about my next car being luxurious and i think that was my mistake going from the G8 to the TL. I wanted the luxury... now I've found that isnt what is important to me.

You think 335i is better than TL-S? Why didn't you buy a 335i then?

I've been contemplating doing the switch you did but the other way around! Are there any good G8 forums out there?

I had a Yukon Denali before the TL, and I reeeallly miss having a thirsty V8

Think? know. im a honda/acura fanboy all the way but that is not even arguable. A CPO 08+ 335i sedan, manual, loaded with the same miles as my TL-S was $6-10k more. I'm not made of money unfortunately so i went with the next best i could think of in the TL-S. im not an infiniti/nissan fan and mercs dont have manuals.

the G8 isnt thirsty (for a V8). i got 26mpg highway and high teens city. for a 400hp car, not too shabby. my question would be, what reasons do you want the G8 and what reasons do you like your TL?

A friend of mine had a 2008 335i 6-speed coupe and that thing was stupid fast. I loved it.

Sadly like most 335s, the fuel pump had to be replaced multiple times. He eventually sold the car because it was constantly in the shop.

I want the G8 for moar power, simple as that what features made you leave the G8 for the TL? I saw you said more luxury, if you could elaborate a little more that'd be awesome.

I like the TL's combination of luxury and sport just like everyone else on here I assume, but I'd be willing to sacrifice some of those features for a bigger grin when I stomp the pedal

G8s have big problems with lifters. Needing a whole new long block to fix in most cases if it gets bad enough. G8 forum has lots and lots of guys with new engines before 40K

Also have vibration problems

what the heck are you talking about!? id love for you to show proof of this other than a few cases. there was a tsb for the lifter tick but it wasnt rampant on the forums and had no relation to mileage. especially your supposed "before 40k" and needing a new long block...why would you need a long block for an issue with the lifters in the heads? that alone is ridiculous. get out of here with your drivel please. if you are going to try and throw dirt at the G8 try to at least do research to back up your claims. that would lead you to the most common problem on the forums of front end vibration that was hit or miss on the G8s, you either had it or you didnt. there was a tsb for that as well.

I left the G8 because i couldnt afford a gxp with the manual trans. the auto gets so boring. all that power and you are stuck letting the car drive you. with a trans tune it was alot better (spun the tires shifting into 2nd and 3rd, lol) but i still missed rowing gears. if that doesnt concern you and you can except the fact that the G8 is far from being luxurious...youll love it. Its a blast to drive and in stock form would run circles around any TL, throw some bolt ons on and you are running with the big dogs on the streets. the aftermarket is strong with the G8

grrrr8.net and g8board.com are both good sites, i was on the latter

Man, I really, really, really want the RV6 V3 J pipe. I deliberately started avoiding the performance sub forum, cuz I kept seeing shit I wanted and can't afford. I pop in there real quick, just for a looksie, and , wouldn't you know I'd find something I have to have.
I haven't been in there in so long, I'm out of touch with all the stuff.
O.K. , the back up cam/video integration is pushed back, j-pipe is next. Hopefully sometime before summer

Justn, been following whats going on with your car. Sounds like you are doing everything you can, I'm just wondering if you can prove the damage they are claiming is new, is indeed old. These people sound like they're doing everything they can to screw you over.
I hope you shove solid proof that they are wrong, right up their ass.

There's an aftermarket for it, it's just not cheap & a lot comes down to custom work. I love the car & the luxury, but I'm dying for a 400whp toy & I'm not spending $4-5K to get the TL there when I could go with a big American V8 & get it there for a 1/3rd of the cost.

All I can do is hope that the evidence points in my favor.
I have a meeting with a "supervisor" adjuster on friday.

If I get there and it is clearly evident that it is fresh damage, I'll gladly pay another deductible.
Butt, I think its silly that they dismiss me several times, also citing "mud" is in play.
if "mud" is indeed in play, they got nothing, and it is damage from the original incident.

Hey Justn.. if they say it's from a separate incident.. take the car back, push it off a cliff and then call up the adjuster.
