ill have to post up some pictures here in a little bit , but i got a new project for a killer deal. Got an 06 Chrysler 300c (5.7 liter HEMI) for 500 bucks!! Took the intake manifold, exhaust, radiator, and valve cover off last night getting ready to pull the head
car only has 120k miles on it with a "blown motor that threw a rod" as the shop called it. runs like ass but as far as i can tell, coolant is entering the cylinder wall and blowing past and burning off. No coolant in the oil, no issues anywhere else and is throwing a code for cylinder 7 misfire. Found coolant on the spark plugs. We will see if its just the head gasket or not, but either way, 500 bucks i can sell the navi out of it and make my money back lol
edit: no knocking that indicated a thrown rod or a dropped valve, only a slight slapping on cylinder 7 where the compression is leaving and entering the coolant resivoir.

plus im probably going to have to take the head to a machine shop to have them check to make sure it didnt warp at all since im sure the previous owner ran it hot. never hurts to be sure right? lol

yea i love doin this kind of stuff as my hobby, but rarely do i come across deals like this one. The car is in rough shape paint wise but the body is good and with any luck, the motor should be fine too with a little love. Interior was smoked in, but is all leather so some good leather conditioner and pulling the carpet to powerwash it and it will be close to my standards haha.. never had a black car before that wasnt a complete piece of shit.

Yeah, I'd get it purring again.. headers + intake and you're in the 400's. Put some nice wheels on.. sold.

one of my friends uncle owned the car and drove it until it overheated and hopefully just blew the head gasket. Had it towed to the shop where they told him the noise they were hearing was a "thrown rod" and that he needed to replace the engine for 6500 plus labor. He said fuck that, told his nephew (my friend) to find someone that will pay him something for it. who then called me. i brought it home and diagnosed it to be, again, hopefully just a head gasket and other miscellaneous minor maintenance while im in there. haha lucky me sometimes i guess
he originally wanted 1000 for it but i turned it down so he called me back after seeing what a dealer would give him for it as a trade and told him 200 bucks, so he offered it to me for 500 to recoup shop diag fees and towing haha

hopefully its what i think it is and ill have to dump maybe 500 bucks into plugs (16 btw for some retarded reason), gaskets, radiator fluid, oil and filter. Assuming theres no real damage to the rocker arms, guide plates, or push rods or even the head at all. Still crossing my fingers until i can get the head off and look at everything
