3G garage pic hosting needs help!
I have been looking through the 3G garage. There are soooo many outdated threads. These lack pictures that were previously hosted and have many outdated links to other forums that don't exist. Is there anyway to fix this?
Hope I'm posting in the right spot...sometimes the stratification of the site throws me off...

Unfortunately that is one big side-effect of not allowing pictures to be hosted locally on the site. Unless you can find the original poster of the pics and get them to put them back up or have someone else host them, then we will have to contend with lots of threads with non-existant pics.
Perhaps with the buyout and move to new servers and such maybe the admins can rethink not allowing pictures to be hosted locally. They could put some kind of limit on the pictures just like avatars. Nothing bigger than 800x600.

I agree, the buyout suggests that there should be an investment in some hard drives and better storage...at least for stuff in the garage. That is one of the real values of acurazine and it needs to be preserved.
If somebody would turn on my editing permissions in this section for a day I would fix all my links. I changed servers - so they are somewhere else now in a different directory.

We are waiting for IB to upgrade the vBulletin and that should fix the problem.
When we can edit it, we will take updating information and apply it as necessary. None of us mods has the time to go through the entire 3G Garage and check everything so we will have to rely on inputs.
Constructive information and corrections may be posted and we will get to them when we can.

Too many people were posting something, then someone else made an argumentative reply, and others jumped into the fray, and then the original poster changed his post and nothing made sense anymore.
And that's why the rule is in effect, and will continue to remain in effect.
Some forums have a longer edit time, and some don't have any restriction, but it just didn't work here.

Also, knowing your skills, you could probably identify some of the problems in the 3G Garage and let us know so when the post is editable we could clean it up.

I agree with this policy. I do it on my forum -- I give a 10 minute window.
