I have a 6 speed manual transmission and the speedometer needle bounces around is worse at lower speeds and when coasting with clutch in.
Does anybody know what is wrong and how to fix it. I will be dropping transmission to replace clutch soon so would be convenient time to fix it.

 

Speedometer, i would check the speed sensor. Unless you mean tachometer which is for the RPM.
