3% over invoice

Is that decent because that's what I just paid for an 06' TL with Navi, auto, Anthracite/Parchment. I fugured 3% plus their holdback was a fair deal for both parties. I pick it up this Wednesday! I can't wait.

You got a good deal. I just paid 32,300 for an auto TL with Navi that included an Ipod MusicLink Adapter. I am in (atleast it's not...) NJ. The dealer was great and gave me a great price on my trade in. As long as you don't pay sticker, then the deal is good.

Enjoy the car!

Am I the only one who buys a car and then constantly wonders if I got the best deal possible for about a week after. I paid a bit over 32k for my TL and when I see people getting it in the high 31s I keep thinking....I could have saved a few hundred.....

A bit over 32k sounds good to me. I think you got a good deal too. A deal can together in many ways. My deal included tax, tags, all the BS doc and processing fees...but I traded in my TSX My deal came together when I got 4.9% financing and the dealership gave me the price I would expect to get if I was selling the car on my own, which is 3k better than the kelley blue book trade in value. I ended up negotiating Internet prices for the all weather mats and trunk tray since the dealer threw in the MusicLink adapter.

Yes, that's with NAV. I did try to get them to throw in the pro pack (floor mat, wheel lock, etc), but with that price they did not bulge. It's no big deal anyway since you can get those items on the web for cheap anyway.

You should be able to get the price close to that from any dealer. Just tell your dealer of choice that you got a quote on the internet for say $32xxx including dest. from another dealer, but you're closer to me (or whatever you want to use) and ask them to beat that price. Most dealers will be able to match or beat it.

Don't try to lowball them too much more than that though, I believe that's pretty close to the lowest they can go.

Good luck with your purchase, and don't forget the special financing rate ends this weekend. (Damn I sounds like a salesman... )

I just got a similar deal Wednesday in Albany, NY the same way (4.9% was the same I'm sure because of the upgrade special). I was surprised at how much of a deal they offered me right away on my RSX. 2004 w/ 53K miles and they gave me a couple grand above KBB price. I was surprised that's what they threw at me. Only problem is, I don't pick it up until tomorrow and I've been on here constantly. Hope I don't get fired!

So how much money would a dealer typically make selling for invoice?

My deal ended up being $32,300 including a musiclink adapter which I was quoted as retailing for $500 with install (a high price for an ipod adapter) as well as all fees associated with the deal. I was told that the deal was reaching into their holdback which I understand is 3% of MSRP. I also understand that their holdback is based on MSRP regardless of the selling price. So the dealer is making $1100 (give or take a few dollars) on each new TL with Navi. I could be wrong, but this was how I understood it. If anyone knows otherwise, please advise. I am curious as well.

I stopped in at my local dealer here in Texas about a month ago and he gave me a quick estimate on a 36 month lease with 12k miles per year w/ about $2000 down. He said it would be about 475$ per month on an '06 TL with navi. This is w/o any bargaining or talking about price other than a quick estimate. Is this a good place to start, or a remotely good deal, or could I go a lot lower?
