IF, I say again, IF this works 100%...you can have 1 of my wives. Only one. LOL.
Again if this works I suggest you allow us to purchase the blank from the dealership in Florida and have it shipped directly to you where you can work your magic and make us all extremely glad and we can live happilly ever after....till the next time.

My local dealer has it for $31.50 plus tax and $4.95 handling fees that comes to $38.66 And this is for driver 1.

I am looking to get another one from them since I can not get my screws out on the back piece. So total cost for this mod so far $38.66 and with another one is $77.32

If anyone is interested PM me.

In the beginning I'm thinking that it's best for you (or anyone else) to send me an '07 key and...
a prepaid bubble envelope that's ready for me to send the key back to you once it's done.

That will let me spend more time making keys and less time dealing with all the things associated with shipping stuff.

and... Since you paid up front for the shipping etc. You would have control over exactly how much you'd spend, how fast it got back to you, insurance etc. You would also have control over how much you paid for your key. I might only be able to get keys for $50 and you'd get keys for $30 and so on.

I won't commit to buying any keys or investing a lot of money up front for something that I haven't proved will work 100%.

Please be aware that... It still might not work.

If it works... I will see what I can get keys for and at that time... I will more than likely buy a number of keys and then just sell them already completed.

If you have enough faith in me that the key will indeed work then I suggest that you or anybody else order a key or keys.

If you don't think I'll be able to pull it off (as a few already have ) Then just sit back and see what unfolds over the next few days.

So, after we get the machined 07 key from you, we take it to the locksmith and have it cut. But what about the immobilizer? I thought it cost a fortune to have the dealer reprogram the immobilizer for you.

For the NoVA folks...

I just ordered 2 keys Driver1 and Driver2, for a 2007 TL-S 6 speed from Karen Radley Acura for $35 EACH .

Not sure why Driver2 is $75 at some places... but either way... both keys for $73 is a steal. Something is broke at the Acura e-store an they haven't figures it out yet... These keys should NOT be $35, but they are today, so get them quick

Busa, you rock. can't wait for you to get this going.

Quick question FLBusa,

So, all of our 04-06 keys are cut in the same way?
it's the immobilizer that's different in each key?

While we are waiting for FLBusa to work his magic here's a little entertainment on the subject on getting into one's car on a cold day (BTW, it's not about heated door locks like the title of the video says)

It Works!!!!!!!!!!!

The locksmith just left.

I did have a small problem with the distance from the tip of the key to the small step.
The step that I machined was just a little too far away and I have to jiggle the key a bit to get it to turn in the ignition. But that's a no brainer to fix.

The locksmith was totally impressed and we exchanged cards so that he could get some keys made up from me.

So here's how it went...

At first he looked at the '07 key and said... Where'd you get this?
I said I made it.
I tried stressing that he would need to make sure that the small step on the back was aligned with the original key but... he just charged in like a bull in a china shop and set the keys up from the tip... I was off by a CH but that was enough and thus the required jiggle. At least I can make another one that I can get to work perfect plus it was worth a few bucks to see if it would work.

We talked for a few and looked at his key code manual to see what other cars the '07 key and chip would work for. He also let me make a copy of the list.

Basically... any Honda/Acura key with a "V" stamped on the blank has the same chip. Not 100% sure if the grooves in the blank are the same but I would assume so. Whether the remote will work on subsequent models is yet to be determined.

The good news is that the machined '07 key and chip will work in '04-'06 TL's. It opens the door and works in the ignition with full functionality. There are also no clearance issues with the remote when you have to push the key in deeper to lock the steering wheel.

Somewhere in this thread are the instructions for programming the remote. I'll do that when I get home tonight.

As long as the key blank and remote are the same the '07 key will work for these models.

3rd Gen TL's (2004 through 2006)
TSX (2004 through 2006)
Accord (2003 through 2006)
CR-V (2006)
Element (2006)
Odyssey (2005-2006)
Ridgeline (2005-2006)
Pilot (2006)

Any model or year that is not on this list won't work with the chip that's already in the '07 key.

I've got someone making me a custom cutter and that will be ready in a couple of days.

Right now the fastest and most cost effective way for me to machine a key for you is to buy an '07 key or keys. Paypal me and send it to me with a paid return label so that all I have to do is put it back in your box stick on your label and stick it in the mail. So if you don't already have one... ya better get one.

Don't PM me if you already have done so. I've got you covered and will post price, shipping and other details once I have permission from the admin's to sell keys.

Lastly... Here it is in all it's glory.

With that said...

I don't have a price just let but I can honestly say that it will be less than $40.00 to machine a key. Without a custom cutter and tooling it takes well over an hour to cut one.

I will make a post with all the details as soon as I have things squared away with the site admin's and have everything ready to go.
I want to be able to get the job done in a reasonable time and at a reasonable price so bear with me. I know some of you are real excited. Me Too.

If you already have a key in hand...
I will cut it for you. However... if you've already opened it up, stripped out screws, cut it, tried melding a key to it or compromised the key in any way... please don't ask me to cut it for you. It will be a major hassle for me and you probably won't like the way it turns out. So when I'm ready... I'll contact the first 10 people that have already PM'd me that have keys in hand.

Right now I plan on buying something like 10 - 20 keys from my dealer and machining them. I'm not interested in making a profit off of the keys... I just need to be compensated for my time so... If a key costs me $52.00 out the door... I'll only add the cost of machining (and shipping) to the key and that's what it'll cost.

If I have some time today I will cut my key, take pic's and post my progress.

Wish me luck.

Pete

I did a search for "key" on the Acura e-store and found 4 part numbers all labelled as "KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY2) (BLANK)" or "KEY, IMMOBILIZER & TRANSMITTER(MEMORY1) (BLANK)" :
35111-SEP-306 = $35 memory1
35111-SEP-307 = $75 memory2

35119-SEP-305 = $35 memory1
35119-SEP-306 = $35 memory2

It looks like 35119 is not supposed to include the blank, but the description says "(Blank)" . . . . anyone brave enough to order the cheaper memory2?

I will be ordering a memory1 for now and hoping that FLBusa has enough time to do everyone's keys . . . . . note that I think $40 is a steal for his time and I would definitely pay more if needed . . . . .

For the Acura E store.....how come we cant ship it to our address? but have to ship it to the dealer?

My price for the key/fob is $52 at the estore for my dealer and there anoter dealer that is about 40min away is only $35 through estore.

But for the $35, they wont let me send it to my house.

Anyone know is there a way to fix this......i dont really want to drive 40 min to save $20.

Thanks

The eStore will let you pick it up at the dealer and you can save the shipping costs. It might be worth it. Actually I printed out the invoice from the eStore and my dealer sold the item to me at that price.

No doubt. I can't believe the dealer wouldn't try and just make them available. So stupid that we are left to find a way to get it to work.

Once again dude, great work. If you need the programming instuctions for the remote let me know. I know it by heart.

I'm just trying to recover from buying a full A-Spec kit.

Everything will be in place hopefully by Monday 12/11

Because the Acura estore merely forwards your order to the dealer you select... then the local dealer processes the order as if you were standing at the dealer parts counter. All the estore does is prevent the 1st trip to the dealer where they tell you "it's not in stock... we'll have it in 2 weeks".

Bad news guys. I placed my order yesterday for (2) Driver 1 keys via the Acura estore. My local dealer called me 10 minutes ago to inform me the keys were on backorder until 12/26...

It appears that the initial run of folks buying keys depleted all available supplies. At least this will give FLBusa time to tool up over the holidays.

On the FOB programming, you need the ones you want programmed back to the car. It will delete the ones you don't program back. The good thing is, it only takes 2 minutes to reprogram all of them.

OK cool.

It does state that I can have up to 3 remotes which would mean that I can have my new '07 along with my two originals. True?

I've got someone making me a custom cutter and that will be ready in a couple of days.

Right now the fastest and most cost effective way for me to machine a key for you is to buy an '07 key or keys. Paypal me and send it to me with a paid return label so that all I have to do is put it back in your box stick on your label and stick it in the mail. So if you don't already have one... ya better get one.

Don't PM me if you already have done so. I've got you covered and will post price, shipping and other details once I have permission from the admin's to sell keys.

Lastly... Here it is in all it's glory.

Hey, keep me posted on when you can start working on the keys, just recived my memory 2 thanks again

I would reccomend Driver 1 - new 07 remote, Driver 2 - old driver2 remote, and old valet.

That is correct, I believe. I have never tried it with 2 driver 1 remotes. I had the D1, D2 and the accord one. But I don't see why you can not have 2 D1 remotes.
