No, they are not the same. But I have an '05 SSM, and the '07 ASM do not look that different to me. Believe me, I was about get my mirrors painted too, but when I received them and compared it to my car I couldn't tell the difference. Trust me, it is not noticeable at all or I would have spent the money to paint them.

I was at the dealership yesterday for an oil change, so i went outside to check out the color. The carbon grey is darker with less metallic flakes...i think.

I'm going to resurrect this thread and hopefully I don't get flamed for it. I don't really have a lot of time right now to do an extensive search. I'm basically looking for confirmation on how to remove the plastic cover off the signal mirrors. I'm sure you just use a flat head screwdriver (with a cloth obviously) but at which end should I pry it off from? I'm considering changing these to either a blue or red bulb and also want to tint them for a more stealthy appearance. I just need to find some patience to also do my front sidemarkers, as i'd like to mod them to red to match the rear - illegal, who cares?

Mine are due in next week. I guess I could do it if nobody else has already done it.

nothing needs to be broken, just the wire plug connector needs to be modified to fit. its still the two same wires in the same +and - locations but a wider connector so it wont be a direct fit. i chopped extra plastic off the wider plug and used super glue but now that i think about it, i shouldve just chopped the connectors off and hardwired instead with some heat shrink tubing over it.

Question hey royce...

hope you are still active on this topic royce----or anyone!. i am trying to figure out how you snaked/ routed the power wire from the side mirror blinkers to the blinker bulb{s} up front. the mirrors look awesome and no more blind spots, but they would look a lot nicer if i coud get them to blink!! lol
p.s. can you be specific as to the routing from door through frame in particular?.. thanks all

well, the only way i know to get them to blink was to physically run a wire through the molex-boot/jamb and in through the fenders and tap into the middle wire of the three in the front blinker bulb. both sides are the same for the tapping into the middle wire. as far as how to get them throught the rubber molex, oh boy, hope you have small wrists and a tolerance for pain. my first time was kind of ghetto , i ran the wire exposed in the jamb and wrapped it in that plastic wire sleeve used for installs- i cant think of the exact name for it, dangit! but to redo it better i basically i undid the 2 halves of the rubber seal in the jamb, took a hot needle to melt a hole through the 2 halves of the molex. ran the wire through the 2 melted holes and then clicked the 2 halves back together to form a tight seal again. its not easy handling a hot needle in that small of space while trying to see what it is you are even doing and with a wire plug that has no slack in it. just hope you have a lot of will power ,lol

Is there a way to hook up the 07 TL side mirrors onto an 05 TL to have it blink with the signals and also lit up with the two front doors opened.

You need an l-e-d load equilizer, you can get them on ebay cheap, they will make your lights bling normally again, led lights have low resistance, so your car thinks that there is a blown bulb on the car, so it blinks fast to alert you of a blown bulb.
