I have an automatic 07 type s and top out at 130, does anyone know how to remove the governor?

not sure if you were being sarcastic about my my post cuz i put it in the wrong forum or if you really were asking me i think my car should be in the showcase but to be honest, i just got this acct so im a work in progress just like my car, it sucks that so far everyone tells me we cant remove the damn governor..sucks..

no thank god, i would have drove my car into a ditch and buried it if it would have...i figured it out whenn i was running a 350z in frwy and of course in the long run he thinks he beat me but on 1/4 mile i know ill spank him. i should have got the 6sp but oh well, im gonna fix her up instead..

 

130 in the 1/4...I hope this isnt really a serious ?...That would make it around a 10sec car.

 

Leave your speed governor there, don't crash/die/blow up/take out other cars/jack up my insurance rates as a young driver. Pweez and fank you

Seriously though, you're not gonna get much help with that here, and the speed governor's there for a reason. Tires can't handle much more speed, assuming you had any grip with all the lift you'd have at those speeds.

You posted this thread in a sub forum that has nothing to do with the question you asked. I was not referring to your car being in the showcase, but rather your thread being in the wrong spot.

Why in the hell would you not want t a car that would hit 130 in the 1/4 mile? Unless of course you want to have a slow car, but reading your post it seems like you want a faster car.

It's pretty senseless to run a car on public highways at 130mph+. Here in NC, for every 1mph over 100mph you spend 1 extra day in jail.

I'm not trying to be a hypocrite as I have (and I'm sure most of the people here) gone that fast on public roads when I was younger, but I matured out of that pretty quickly. There's no sense in running cars at that high of speeds anyhow...if you guys (girls) really want to run your cars head down to the strip and run them out in the 1/4 mile.

I don't think you're going to get a lot of sympathy here regarding top speeds, because I can think of less than 5 members here that actually road track their cars and should be at all concerned with speed limiters.

Have you actually run him in the 1/4?

Racing someone at 130mph on public streets is wreckless. If you're like 99% of the people you don't know how to handle the car at those speeds and once the car begins to get away from you, you would not know what to do with it.

 

Heres a thought - I'm just throwing this out there....

Sell the TL and buy a track car to do 130+ in...

i hit the governor once, in 2 years. it was very early, on a road that no one takes in the fall/winter since it goes to the beach, and it was flat out scary. but i did have all the stock suspenion in, now i think it would be different, but its just not worth it

 

I don't think the TL has a governor. One of the forum members here took an 07 TLS to Germany and ran 149 before the fuel injectos cut off. The is video on here somewhere.

 

6mt does not until somewhere after 135mph. 5at does. 5at base has no governor, mine has been past 155mph. The injectors shutting off as you mentioned is the governor.
