Problems with Acuraoemparts.com???

I placed an order a few weeks ago. I've been working every weekend for a while now but I have next week off. I ordered nearly a month in advance so I would have my parts in time for my vacation. Going to their website shows the order is confirmed and pending shipment. It's been 3 weeks and no shipment and no replies to e-mail. I'm about to have some friends pay a visit over there. Anyone ever had any issues with these guys? Last time I ordered from them there were no problems. As of now there's no way I'll be getting the parts in time for the install. I'm about to get really pissed.

This has been my experience too. They've been very good up to now. I just got little items like speaker grills, front airdam, misc bolts that I've lost just to keep the car near perfect. I can live without them but it gives me something to do in my time off. Because of them I might end up in Vegas due to boredom...

I haven't had a problem like that at all, they were very prompt! If anything, given them a call and tell them your an acurazine member! Say I thought you were a vendor and wanted to give you my business as you are regarded well on the site! Butter them up and they'll slide!

If these items are on backorder your will see "pending shipment"

Pending shipment from the manufacturer

I would call them

I had a really horrid experience with Delray Acura (acuraoemparts.com) a couple years ago.

I will never deal with them again.

I've ordered a couple things before from acuraoemparts too and I got them pretty quickly. I find it kinda weird that they aren't responding to your emails though.

I'm sure a phone call will clear everything up. good luck bro

It's probably a backordered item by Acura, and they just didn't email you a notification.

I've ordered from them about 5 times so far with no problem. The item must be out of stock.

I had something similar happen when I needed a misc replacement part. I ended up calling them and after sitting on hold for about 15 minutes the guy told me it was a back order part from acura. I ended up waiting about 3-4 weeks for my part. It never said pending on their website though. I highly suggest you call them and just find out. I did the part in the end, I just had to wait a little longer than I expected. Good luck!

I'm not worried about getting ripped off, I'm sure I'll get my parts. Just wanted to get them before I go on days off. I would be satisfied with an e-mail saying they're on back order so I can plan out what to do to the car. I may do a valve adjustment assuming the parts don't come in.

They are really bad about responding to e-mail but they answer the phone and when I had a problem with an order, they straightened everything out right away.

I'm in the same boat with another vendor. I bought a set of Eibach adjustable SmartArms and they were supposed to ship within 3 days...here we are 3 weeks later, still haven't shipped...turns out they are on backorder. But I wouldn't have found this out unless I had repeatedly e-mailed the vendor. A little proactive communication would be nice....just gotta wait....

Sounds like something may have gotten screwed up with the order or the parts are on backorder. I wish one of the discount online vendors was right down the street...I hate waiting on delivery of online orders...but I do like saving money.

Possible DIY on valve adjustment???

I think there is one already. I'll be happy to take pictures when/if I do it.

I tried to order a bunch of stuff through them. One of the parts was the radiator engine bay cover. I checked the status online and it said to call. Unless I checked the status I would not have known to call and they probably would not have shipped it.

The problem was that they said the part was too big to ship. And they needed my permission to remove it from the order. What a crock of shit. So I had to pay full price for it from a local dealer. It's not even a big part!

Guess now I know not to order a lip kit or fender from them.

That's my biggest complaint. They don't notify you that it's not shipping. I saw the charge on my bank account the next day so I assumed it was on the way. I also left my phone number. After 1.5 weeks I went back to my e-mail to check the tracking number and there was none so I went back to order status and that's when I saw that the shipment was pending.

Have you called yet? Its hard to not answer questions when you are on the line with them...

I'd be all over them until you get an answer or tracking number...

you have to understand how these places work--
and the number of emails they get in a day is overwhelming
the order system is seperate from shipping dept
No one has the specific job of notifying backorder customers and tensions rise~

A simple phone call will give you an answer

Its always good practice to call a vendor before ordering and ask of status on the parts you want
If things are coming from Japan--it really is a month plus to get them --a long boat trip is involved- then customs clearance- then to warehouse and distribution network...

So I finally called today...

A little background, about 6 weeks ago I placed an order with the wrong card by accident. I recieved an e-mail that there were insufficient funds which was my fault. 2 weeks later I placed the same order again. This was with my debit card from my main checking account. The charges went through 2 days later according to my bank statement. This account has never been overdrawn.

So I made the call with my order number. The guy on the phone told me that I had insufficient funds and that an e-mail was sent to me. Basically after explaining it, it's the exact same series of events that occured 6 weeks ago but with the date changed to my last order. They have no record of my first order. No e-mail was sent this time.

Their records are completely screwed up. So even though I'm staring at my bank account with the charges taken out 3 weeks ago they need proof so it's up to me to fax over my bank statement. I don't even want the parts from them anymore after this experience. My local dealer has already beaten their prices anyway. I just want the charges credited back to my account and I never want to do business with them again. I've got lots of resources so if the bank statement doesn't work, I'll not only get the money owed to me, I'll go for more money.

I have used acuraoemparts.com before with no issues. Only thing I use to hate was having to wait for almost a week for my parts to finally arrive. Well I found a better place closer to home. I'm in Albuquerque and found oemacuraparts.com a division of Acura of Peoria out of Arizona. I just recently placed a couple of orders from them
(105k service and motor/tranny mounts) and they both arrived after a couple of days. Look them, and I believe Tim Polinak is a vendor on here as well.

damn.. I've never had an issue with AOP but this sounds like a real clusterfuck. I hope everything gets worked out and they give you your parts promptly.

my big problem with them is that if you place a big order and you have a few miscellaneous parts that are on back order they will hold the entire order for these parts. i literally have made $1000 orders from them and they get everything within a few days, but will hold the order for 3-4 weeks because they are waiting for a $2 clip that is back ordered from California. i've then asked them, "can you just send me the clip when you get it and send the rest now?" they say, "no, but we can just cancel that clip from the order and send everything now. you will have to make a separate order in the future for the clip."

but as long as you order "common" parts they ship pretty quickly.

I found the prices at Magauto.com to be very competetive with Acuraoemparts.com. Being a for Florida resident, sales tax along with the handling fee of $4.95 takes them (AOP) out of the equation quickly. The only slight draw back is waiting for the parts from VA.

I found where my account was credited a while back. It's never been close to overdraft so someone messed up and credited it back.

This has turned out to be a good thing though. My local dealer is matcing and beating the online prices and whatever they don't have in stock only takes 2 days to get here. I just got the timing belt kit, several interior and exterior cosmetic items and other odds and ends stuff that came out to $313 out the door. This is better than the online prices by about $100.
