180,000 mile first post

Hi All,

The title says it all. I bought the car in Feb 2004 and crossed the 180k mark today. Needless to say, it has been the best car I've ever had. A perfect combination of power, performance and styling. It has essentially been bullet proof.

However, there are some little issues that have been creeping up and I am very happy to have found this site. Thanks for all the help you've already given me and any help you can send my way as I separate out some needs in different posts.

best,

Peter

Hi All,
Thanks for the welcome! I don't have any mods yet so, I'm afraid my pics would be boring but I will work on posting some.

The transmission is original and has not given me any problems. I have only recently learned that it has been a problem for others.

My little issues:
Compliance bushings are broken
My rearview mirror doesn't stay put (after reading here and adjusting the clip it is much better-still tracking down a reference to a Tech Bulletin to restore completely)
My rear passenger door does not unlock

I haven't done a search yet on the bushing and the rear lock but I haven't found either one referenced in the shop manual that I just got.

Anyone have any experience with the parts CDs? Lack of part numbers is driving me crazy!

Thanks for the help!

Go to http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...=1&catcgry1=TL to figure out part numbers.

Mirror loose TSB (cliff note from various threads on this same subject: you might be able to fix it yourself by bending the existing clip/spring):

Welcome and congrats on making it to 180K relatively unscathed

Thumbs up

I'm approaching 150,000 miles in the next month and a half or so on my TL, it's also a 2004 and it's got its original transmission.

Take that, domestic automakers.
