13.998@106.04mph - 05 TL 6MT

Just got done, I'm on the iPhone so I'll post the slip tonight.

60' 2.30
1/8. 9.25
1/4 14.06
mph 104.81

Highest trap was 105.2mph...absolutely no traction tonight!! 350Z are running low 14s and barely getting 101mph

Really happy with my trap speeds

btw stock wheels, not the 19s

13.90's are still pretty impressive on a mediocre 2.28 sixty foot though.

Nice work Alex. What was the weather like? Any weight reduction?

Power is definitely there! Maybe a lower 60' and pulleys get you mid 13's?

I know I was just saying 105 trap is high for nearly 14 ets even with the 60' and FWD.

That is a SOLID trap for your ET. Your TL is running strong Put some slicks on the front and get that 60' down, your talking some impressive TL numbers....and N/A to boot.

I still have a long way to go, the car could technically hit 13.7-13.8...it's me who needs to work on my 60'

I think that's as close as I'm gonna get without adding a supercharger or turbo though

Time to work on a 2.1x 60' time No weight reductions and it was pretty hot and humid in the beggining. It was much better towards the evening when I ran this time. I'd say about it was about 78 degrees or so.

That's right I still have a few mods to go! If I get the 60' right I'm hoping for at least a 13.8 1/4.

It is people were shocked at the track when my stock looking TL ran 105mph

Thank you Sir! I can't believe a catback, pre-cats, j-pipe and CAI gave me an extra 5mph in the 1/4! These mods work!!

Man I'm tempted to get some slicks, just to see what I can do.

Thanks Sonnick, I couldn't believe it when I got the time slip!! How the the hell do exhaust mods add up to a 105mph trap speed lol that's crazy!! I guess ATLP and RV6 really have quality stuff

Wait till you see my next post

btw, it was hot and muggy around 5pm and cooled off a bit towards 7pm...maybe to like 78 degrees..it was like 85 during the day!

This was another 13s run during the evening..I'll post the slip when I'm at home. The time is a lil slower but the trap is about a .5mph higher

60' 2.386
330 6.197
1/8 9.24
mph 81.63
1/4 13.998
mph 106.04

that was my highest trap of the night

still cant believe exhaust gives these kind of gains..i need a dyno lol

Honestly, what mod do you think gave you the biggest increase in power as far as low end torque is concerned.

I'd say the ATLP V2 J-pipe...I've never really payed attention to the torque but I believe it's the j-pipe. Pre-cats and the catback were all top end.

Holy shit! 106! LOL.

Damn that top end really pulls. I trapped 79.95 in the 1/8th with just I/Jpipe. But only 100.82 in the 1/4. Thanks to your exhaust combo your top end is beastly!!!

Now I really wanna go ASAP!!

Type-DM - Definitely the Jpipe. Especially with the ATLP V1 or V2, XLR8, and RV6 V3 since they all have very free flowing designs and great merges. The Jpipe really helps alot. I may ask a friend to borrow his ATLP V2 if I go to the track lolol.

Not to be a jerk at all and you've got a truely legit timeslip, but something is WILDLY off. Maybe it's that track because I've seen some silly high traps and oddly low ETs coming from Z-Max Dragway. The trap just doesn't make sense and I guarentee that your TL won't remotely close to 106mph at another track. For your car to go 106mph when historically others with similiar mods at most any other track struggle to go 101mph, it means something is screwy with the track equipment.

There aren't "factory freak" cars these days. Build tolerances are too tight. What makes the difference is driver, conditions, and track.

You can't mess up trapspeed. You can get crappy 60 foots and pull the same trap as you did with a stellar 60'. Meaning, no real skill is required to pull off a good trap.

I do know one thing, this one TL going 106mph with simple intake/exhaust work will now become the argumentive point of many TL owners when "proving" what a 6MT TL can do. My response would be, then why haven't we seen traps like this in past 5+ years? Seems odd only one ~235whp TL would pull off such an amazing feat when other lighter and more powerful cars can't claim the same thing.

I know where this debate/argument will lead so I won't post anymore to this thread.

I have about 19 time slips from last night and all are showing trap speeds
ranging from 104.2mph up to the 106mph. Don't think their equipment is messed up, not trying to be an ass but what could possibly be wrong with it??

There were many other cars running what they should have been running..I don't think the equipment went bad on my runs. A stock auto TL ran 15.2@95mph, stock 350z ran 13.8@103mph(I walk 350z on the highway), M3 turbo ran 11.7@132mph. Just a few examples.

Dave, I don't think everyone is gonna start saying
When I ran 99.8mph stock, people were telling me I'd run better at other tracks. Now I run 106mph with full exhaust and it's too high?

Damn my iPhone is crapping out, I'll post later. DaveB no offense taken and I still want you to post, we are not kids..let's have a peaceful discussion.

106 does seem high, but at the same time, all those mods put together really do give a LOT of power. Dave, stock 6MT TL puts down 230whp so to say he would have 235whp is way off. I would say more along the lines of 260. My friend dyno'd on a DD a couple weeks ago and posted 268whp/241wtq with the same mods with the addition of the UR pulley.

Every track reads differently. Maybe the track was prepped awesome? Who knows. He trapped 99.8mph stock. Yes that's a high trap for stock but but still.

101 isn't too hard I trapped 100.82 with I/Jpipe in my Accord. Yes I'm lighter but I also have less power. I hope to trap 104-105 when I go to the track and I have more mods. I have the RV6 V1 Jpipe (Alex's ATLP V2 is better), but I have a P2R ported IM. Maybe it's a fast track, who knows? Either way 106....damn lol.

Plus, it's not like he ran at 2 totally different tracks. He ran the 99.8 and 106mph at the same track. Comparing tracks is very similar to comparing dynos...

Ok, I'll run again next Wednesday and see if the traps are any different. But like I said, I ran about 19x and all my traps were above 104mph...

I may not have the best launch but I know how to shift and I do it pretty well with the TL.

Maybe I need to run an IS350 to prove the 106mph...faq it don't really care what anyone says, I ran 13s and I'm happy (drunk post lol)

Sonnick you got it right I probably put down 260whp or so...stock is 225-230whp.

Maybe even slightly more. It's hard to tell car from car, dyno to dyno, but I'd be hardpressed to say less than 260 when I think I myself am dyno'ing 250. I'd guess 260-265, maybe higher with traps like that!

Can you get us a speedo vid?

Getting there for sure,

I think my next mods are Pre-cat deletes / J-pipe ... I'll just take the precats off for the inspection.

Sorry for the threadjack.

Can't wait to see the results on your next track visit Alex, keep us updated and hopefully have some consistent runs!

I've noticed more and more on this forum people seem to believe anything. Which is nice I guess, not very many arguements. But if everyone seems to believe it I won't say anything...but kind of glad someone said something because something seems fishy. Maybe you were in the other lane?? Just sayin'..seems hard to believe. No hard feelings
