Received my Silver TL and Black RL today! Looks awesome!
![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Let the modding commence!
(now how do I get these wheels off? Didn't expect this thing to be so detailed it had working suspension and everything!)
![Doh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/doh.gif)
P.S. A little funny story. When I went to pick them up, my coworker asked me if I bought shoes online (US Postal box has pictures of shoes on it)!

Those are some funny photos. My coworkers and I especially liked the photo showing the 1/18 scale silver TL parked between my red 3G TL and your gold 2G TL.
Now a surprise - I also bought a 1/18 scale TL (in black) as a gift for you. This one's a keeper.

Ok, here is an update on modifying my TL!
IMPORTANT! If you plan on changing the wheels on your TL, resist the urge to just try and pull the wheels off from the car. The wheels are SCREWED on!
In order to remove them, you have to remove the centercap. I did this by cutting it off with a razor blade. Once removed, you will see the screw.
After removing the screw, you will have to kind of shimmy the wheel out sideways as the brake disk is in the caliper.
The wheels I got are for a 1/24 scale model. Because of this, the 20"+ wheels now equal the 17" of the stock wheels. I decided to put the stock tires on the new rims and they fit!
Kinda high profile, but beggers can't be choosers I guess...
I now have to figure out a way to get the wheels to fit in the wheel well and keep them there. Hopefully I will be able to figure out a way to retain the ability for the wheels to spin!![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
Misc notes:
This was the driver side rear wheel. I have not tried the front yet.
Old rim looks pretty crappy because I used a box cutter to cut the centercap off.
I am planning to buy a hobby knife for the rest of the wheels in case I ever decide to put the stock wheels back on (yeah, right...)
Be careful handling the car when you are working on it. I broke off one of my sideview mirrors by accident.
Easy fix though, I will just glue it on later. I sometimes worry about the sunroof as it always flips open... ![Why Me](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/whyme.gif)
If you plan on modifying your TL, good luck! And share your tips!
P.S. Buy more SILVER TL's people!!!

Yeah did you have to cut it out or did you just scratch the shit out of it trying to pry it? if prying would the little 'plastic thingy' that comes with the model work?
If it does, and you are able to get it off easily, I might try taking off a wheel or two because my car doesn't 'drive' as at least one the the tires gets stuck as it's rolling.

Vince: Yeah, they look kinda small, I will post some pics later.
Adam: I scratched the shit out of it cutting it out. Since then I have been able to remove both passenger side caps by prying. I still have the front driver side that doesn't want to come out by prying.
Steve: You should definately pick one of these up! They are awesome!
It is pretty amazing how detailed this thing is! Looks like you have a Silver TL. Dave still has lots of those (the bulk of his order was Black and Silver). My friends kid has a bunch of diecasts (tuner type), and they don't even come close to the detail this one has!

Sweet, I got my TL today. Looks very nice and I'm very impressed with it.
However the under body of the car was broken off when I received it. It's under the front bumper. It looks like there's only 2 small plastic pieces that it was attached to. Also the bumper was scratched too.
I'm going to try to use touchup paint on it and also try to glue the broken piece back onto the car.
Otherwise, i'm surprised with the weight of the car and I'm very happy too.

As promised, here are some more pics!
Here is a pic with the new wheel on!
Here is a pic with the low-pro tire... kinda small...
![](http://home.hawaii.rr.com/midnite/CIMG1690s.JPG)
Here is a pic of the wheel where I pried off the centercap instead of cutting. Watch out when doing this! Don't stab your hand or scrape your car! Also, I lost one of the centercaps when if flew off from prying...
For anyone who wants to take the whole thing apart, there are 4 screws holding the top to the bottom. They are located in the wheel well. You probably have to take out the wheels to get to the screws...

I was considering tinting mine, but I would rather "show off" the interior detail!
![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I am still considering if I want to make my tail lights red. I already bought some transparent red tape (tail light repair tape) to try out... LOL!
If you can find a model that uses screw on wheels, it would probably be hella easier to mod!

That's a hot wheel, kikaida, keep up the good work!
My wife thought the models came with my cars.
They are now sitting on a window sill in my office. They are quite striking...

I wish they came with the car! LOL!
Well, here is another update! I am at 50% right now (meaning I did 2 wheels so far).
Here are some pics, let me know what you think!
![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
Here are some pics with the new rims with stock tires:
Here are some pics with the low-profile tires (turned out alot better than I thought it would turn out!):
By the way, these pics are with a slight drop. Without the drop, the low-profiles make the car look like a monster truck!
And just for shits and giggles, here is my "Muscle Car" version:
So whaddaya think? Please post some comments!
![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
Oh yeah! Here is a pic of my real car for reference!

btw, how did u drop it? cut the springs?
the muscle car one looks good, but if you did that to the front wheels it would look more realistic...like a drag TL lol

Just opened mine. It is in perfect condition. thanks.
I have one question though. Does anyone know what that little piece that is in the box is for? It kind of looks like a paddle.

To drop the car, what I did as a temporary thing, was to place some toothpicks in the suspension. I guess it is kind of like drop blocks? Here is a pic. Kinda ugly, but if I do this as a permanent thing, I will make it look better. LOL
And here's a pic for you! The "DRAG TL"!

sweet, hahahhaa the drag TL looks awesome..
as far as the tooth pick drop, hahhahha, but it works though
ps, do the toothpicks fall out when you push farther down on the suspension or is the suspension already bottomed out?
interasting, the low profiles are wider then the stocks, they're like 265s or sumthing lol

Yeah, the low-pro wheels are alot wider. When I put the stock tire on the new rims, I push it out to the outside edge of the rim. On the inside there is alot of space left! LOL!

For the Acurazine sticker I just create the logo in Illustrator and then print it over an adhesive label sheet. The logo is just 7/16” long.
