Now I'll have 2 Black TL models. Time to start on modding ideas for one of them. A new paint job will definitely be on of the mods.

What color you gonna paint it?
You might have even been able to use it as a base coat (candy).

I'm not sure yet on the color, I want to get it in and get it disasemmbled first. I like to see if I can take really fine sand paper and remove the current paint.
I'm trying to decide between 2 theme:
1. Race car style striping and logos
2. Roadster style flames on hood and sides.
If I do option 2 then it will be a several layer job and I will want to get a really good blending effect.

Or, you can make it look like mine!

Wow!!! No words are adequate to explain:
Kay went from trying to pay $60 to SC, went straight to $124 from an unknown seller on eBay, and zoomed right past the $90 offer that is the main subject of this thread!
Huh?????
You can't make this stuff up.

TL with no clothes on
I mentioned in an earlier post that I was planning on doing some modding to the 2nd TL model I purchase. To show you I was serious...

![](http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4520/baretl2oe8.jpg)
These models have a LOT of parts to them. I did end up messing up a couple of minor parts while using the stripping agent to take off the paint as I thought the parts were metal and they ended up being plastic. Oh well I just have to fabricate new ones. While I'm at it I may just fabricate the a-spec body kit as well.

How difficult was the disassembly? I am possibly planning on taking one apart for my NEW project (not a paintjob).
How do you plan on fabricating the a-spec kit?
Did you figure out your paint scheme yet?
Can't wait to see the results!

^-- How hard to strip down? Well that depends on how far you go. If you go as far as I did, there are some difficult parts. I haven't figured out the paint scheme yet. As for the fab work, I'm going to experiment with balsa wood first and go from there. I'm handy with wood.
The hardest parts were taking the panels off the doors (glued on) and then the roof panelling and front/rear windows. Here are a couple pointers:
1. don't take the sun roof off out the top, wait till you get the roof paneling off.
2. Rear window is attached to roof panel and doesn't come out seperately.
3. Front window can be removed by pushing it outward near the roof. Once that is done then the roof panel is held on by 2 glue spots near the front.
4. If you want to completely strip down the doors, the handles and the piece the side mirrors mount onto are plastic. (messed up on door handle and melted both side mirror mounting pieces with the paint stripper)
Other than that just take you time. As you already replace the front wheels you know about that plastic cover that has to be coerced off.

Hi Supercomputers,
Can you ask the vendor how much to ship just one WDP TL to US? I still want it with WDP color so bad. However, you only ordered 5 for the whole order and it was gone very fast. I bet there are still some members here want it as well since WDP is the popular color for the TL. May be for WDP fans we can do a small group buy again.

TL_Feel I wish I could help but to get the pricing I have to take over 50 cars at a time, I still have Black and Silver left, This was a one time deal to help the forum out.
