05 TL feature Wishlist

I know it's a little early, but what do you guys think of these TL feature wishlist:

fold-down rearseats
mp3 player w/ ID3 tags
rear sunshade
auto telescoping steering wheel

anything else?

Those are possible, but I think there would be some redesign work involved with the fold-down seats.

The others should be easy, as Honda either has the parts or can get them from 3rd party suppliers.

Sure, but now we're talking about a $50K car.

I'd pay $50k for that car.

moreace hit it on the head with his list.

IMHO, in the $35k+ market, we shouldn't care so much about MP3's, but I would love to also see cornering lamps!

- Solar ventilator

Auto on/off headlights and power memory steering wheel would do it for me.. I am willing to give up homelink.

I second moreace's list.

Here's one I cant believe they missed. The front side lights should blink.

iVTEC.

Mirrors auto rotate down when in reverse.

How about a simple one like having the current side marker lights blink when you turn? I agree with Ragin on that one for sure. Sillly that it doesn't do that already.

Yes the mirrors already rotate down on both sides, the 03 TL did it on the driver side.

It already has LED brake lights too. The side markers are also LED's

02 TL does it on the passenger side....

plus having all of this like gundar said is gonna cost a lot more...

So yes maybe if it was an RL. it would be better. Not in a TL... wouldn't be a TL no more.

another question why does the RL cost the most, excluding NSX, but has the least amount of horsepower?

mirrors do tilt down in reverse, but only of the mirror selector is on that. Swithc it to L and the left mirrors tilts, R for the right, or in the middle neither will

I wish the electronics would allow the Nav and map settings to remain once the car is started. I often play with the map while waiting for my family to get settled in for a drive. Usually the car is not started as I do not like to have it running in the garage. Then I start the car and lose all my Nav map routings. Just an annoyance as I also have to wait for the disclaimer screen yet agin.

Almost forgot this one....

I keep looking at the Nav setup 3 screen where you can choose between a short list of either a male or female voice. I wish there were choices of voices to choose from. Perhaps celebrities could sell their voices. I think "Carmen" would be a hoot to have. I also would love a sultry "Demi Moore" voice.

My wish list:
1. Get rid of matte chrome on exterior and replace with thin shiny chrome
2. Real leather on rear seatbacks and rests to hold up better in sun
3. Replace Chysler/Ford Truck-style grill with a nice RL-style grill.
4. Solar ventilator (don't know what it is, but sounds sooo cool!) Seriously, though, 1violinist, are you talking about the solar-powered interior vent fan as found in the defunct Mazda 929? I always wondered what became of that feature. Sounded like a good idea.
5. Other than that I think the TL is quite fine

How did I know you were going to say this?

Actually, it would be nice if the trip computer were available on the navi, and therefore easily controlled by voice (which I am using virtually every day now! WOW!).

AWD would bring more new people to the TL and would be a great safety feature. I wouldn't upgrade again if AWD happened, though....FWD is good enough for me.

At least I am consistent. It is not expensive to beef it up.

Have you seen the one in the G35?

Avg speed, distance to empty, current MPG, average MPG, tire pressure monitor, time since last reset and others that I cannot recall.

You would think with all of the technology in this car, the trip computer would be better than the one in my 97 Jeep Cherokee.

In all honesty, add instant MPG, a tire pressure monitor and a decimal point to some of the calculations and I'd be thrilled!

solar ventilator??
i only saw that in Audi A6...

fog lights? the bi-xenon is hella bright that u won't need fog lights...

the car seems perfect, but i wouldn't mind if they re-work on the steering feel and want one key fob instead of a remote and a key...since accord already using one key...

auto lock and auto light is necessary too, since lots of lower priced car already has such feature

I don't have many to list:

Auto (on/off) headlights
power tilt and telescoping steering wheel
60/40 split fold-down rear seats
rearview mirror with compass
turn signal indicators on side mirrors or blinking side strip

Why u need 4 auto down?

I think they wont do it, cuz of safety reasons, like say a kid pulls it up and another kid has got his head out the window..

I think 2 auto up/down for front are good enough.

and if u want to put all 4 down, than just use the remote

That is ridiculous! There are so many cars out there that have auto up/down on all windows. I think the entire Infiniti line has it and countless others. I think one Kia even has this feature.

A few other things I'd like to see changed:

- an interior place to grab the doors farther back than the grab handle. My garage parking is a bit tight, and it's easier to control the swing grabbing near the back edge of the door, but there's nothing there.

- change the power window disable to allow the driver control when the passengers switches are disabled.

- add some instructions for the cargo nets to the user manual! I can tell it's flexible, but I'm not sure what all the configurations are that the designers intended.

- make the console bin big enough inside to store the super-size dvd-a jewel cases without having to put them in diagonally and lean them over.

I think the idea of having the flush mounted side cameras in place of mirrors would be cool. Although I'm not sure how well it would work at night in the rain..

This is a big one for me. My 4 year old daughter gets a kick out of the control she has in our Accord. She'll hold her control down and I can't get the window up.

My Jeep GC gives priority to the driver.

My friends Jeep Cherokee couldn't override it. He would drive around in the rain and speed up towards a puddle on the passenger's side and roll down the window. So the passenger would subsequently get soaked. Now I just hold my finger on the up button whenever I see a big puddle coming up and he is blocked from giving me a drink from the street water.

My 97 Cherokee also gives priority to the driver. If the windows are locked, I can still put them down from the driver's seat.

I think the wish list is unrealistic.

Realistic:

Move trunk opener button.
Auto headlights
Side lights integrated into blinkers.
