Just got off the phone with Acura dealership and asked when the 05's will come out. The guy told me late August/early September, and said that if I ordered a TL in late June it will most likely be an '05. I also told him that I was interested in an ABP w/Ebony and not Quartz. He told me that it will be an additional choice for '05 since so many people want the ABP w/Ebony. I don't know if I really trust what this guy is saying, I mean he is a salesman. Is there anyway I can find out any truth to this? I know CDN owners get the choice of Ebony or Parchment for their ABP, why not us?

 

This color combo would have been my first choice . . . I found myself being
jealous of Canadian TLers on the forum who had blue w/ebony.

I bought Anthracite/Ebony instead.

Did you ask or did they mention if there is anything different from the 04 to the 05. Price, options...etc!

 

That's my 2nd choice. I hope it's true too. I like the color blue, and my F-150 was my 1st non-blue vehicle. The X-fire was offered in a silver-blue color, but it looks too silver so I went with the graphite (just like the anthracite), and there was a limited run of a dark blue option for the Navigator, but I got mine too late and there were only 2 colors offered with the "Monotone" Pkg (black and light tan).

 

I mentioned that I liked the ABP, but wished that the Ebony was offered and that's when the salesman told me about the '05. He didn't tell me anything else as far as differences between the 2 model years

 

I called Acura customer service and was incorispondince with them via email. I told them I was interested in a TL and it was betweent the TL or the 05 MB C230K. (no its not) TL all the way. I asked for some info on the 05 TL so I had some levrage not to buy the MB. Both people on the phone and via email said they are very sorry and could not help me out with any info on the 05 they said I hope I wait to buy but would understand if I didnt since they had no info. The only info they had said the car would be out in the Fall and more info should be made public JULY, August. Hope this helps. Im waiting for an 05. I look at it this way if th 05 has nothing really really great wich im sure its not, Ill get a good deal on an 04. Hard to justify paying a33k for a car that in less than 3 months will already be 1 year old.

In Canada, the land of fewer choices than the US, we can get ABP with either ebony or CAMEL interior not parchment. Having the ABP with ebony I have to say it is a beautiful combination that gets positive comments from many people.

 

i just hope the green color doesn't come w/ ebony interior coz that's what my #1 choice was and that may be the only regret with my 04

 

Changes for '05, including color combinations: unknown to all but Acura's inner circle.

Dealers/salespeople claiming otherwise: bullshit artists.

 

I was close to buying an Anthracite/Quartz TL this weekend but at MSRP I could not bring myself to signing the papers as the 2005 are right around the bend. The salesman stated to me that the 05' TL would not be out until late September/early October. I too feel that if the 05' TL does not have any major fixes/upgrades (do I hear side 'mirror turn-signal' anyone??!! ) then I'll get a 04' at lower cost. The salesman trying to rouse me to getting a 04' stated that even once the 05' come out that he did not foresee the remaining 04's to be sold at/or below dealer cost.

 

I don't believe this... but it's still the possible assumption.

Usually, if dealers get any leaking news, TOV site should post this rumor very soon. I trust TOV site more than those salesman, sometimes most of salesman know less than what you've known...


So far, the public doesn't know what Acura headquarters intend to do, Acura may either keep selling 04TL until October or have some seamless switch-over before 05RL's date... this all depends on what new features Acura is gonna put on into 05TL... IMO.

 

The forum members will know before the freaking salesman know. They keep them in the dark so that they don't start making statements like this guy did. They want them to sell 04's right now and not to discuss 05's. Acura is notorious for not releasing info early. This guy was full of shit. If he's right, and I hope he is for those that haven't purchased a TL yet, it's total dumb blind luck. Trust me. The internet community will know before he does.

Like everyone else said the guy is clueless or blowing smoke. If your ordering a car, You cant order something and then he's like suprise its an 05. Cant happen you need to discuss all that info before you can order. There is going to be a price diffrence. Like someone else said when the 05's come out the 04's will come down in price. How much? not sure but if the 05 sticker is the same then the 04 will have to come down close to cost. Look at the 04 and 05 MB 230k sticker was 34,500 for an 04 with options you can get it around 28,000 now that the 05's are out.
