'04 TL Purchasing Advice
I'm looking to purchase an '04 ABP TL with nav hopefully in the next couple of weeks. One internet sales manager offered $34K. Does anyone have good advice on what to say to possibly work this number down? I'm a rookie at making deals on vehicle purchases so any advice would be appreciated.
FYI, I have done my homework on the MSRP and Invoice prices. Is fair to throw the invoice price in their face?
Thanks - This site has been awesome to read.
Hopefully I'll get to joint the TL club soon.

Wow,
wjpetz - That's a good deal. That's close to the price that was quoted to me by other dealerships for a non-nav. How did you come to an agreement with the dealer for this price?

I picked up an Anthracite/Camel/Navi TL for 33K up here in Boston. 32.3K is a great deal in any part of the country. You should be able to do better than 34K though.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

Alright, after doing some more homework, can someone tell me if this asking price that I'm going to respond to the dealership is okay.
'04 TL with Nav
MSRP = $34,650
Dealer Holdback (3% of MSRP) = $1,040
Dealer Invoice = $31,575
True Dealer Cost = $31,575 - $1,040 = $30,535
So, if I ask for $32,500 (which includes the Destination Fee of $545), then this should be a good deal for me, but at the same time the dealer will still make money off the sale.
Are my numbers above correct, and will the dealer just blow me off and think I'm
Thanks for everyone's input - :gheywave:
