$500 rear bumper resprayed
In case anyone was wondering, it will cost roughly $500 to get our rear bumpers resprayed. This little gem happened the other day comming home from a nice day skiing. This is what happens when the person behind you isn't paying attention!
That's the usual price with labor, paint, and bumper removal.
I got quoted $556.71 for my front bumper, but it had a little cut in it which raised the price.
WDP, and probably some of the other colors, costs more because of the cost of the paint.
I have learned to live with my $500+ little ding.

Cost me 870 for a brand new OEM bumper from Acura and it painted and installed.
The guy who hit me paid the 870 cash. They said they could patch it but its not worth it since labor to path would be half of a new bumper.

I just paid $300 to have my bumper scrapes and minor dent repainted. The bumper's color is slightly off in certain light conditions, but in the middle of the day it looks OK.
Bumpers are so hard to paint-match, hope yours turns out OK...

the paint on bumbers is always hard to match, the guy at the body shop told me that even from the dealer they don't match 100%. he said acuras are notirous for that. He also said that toyotas and lexus have the process of paint matching the bumpers the best.
I never noticed, but even with the original paint the bumper does not match 100% and I also saw one on the highway with was even more noticable. It depends on the angle you look at it. This makes me feel a little better about the worries of matching paint after the accident

There is a reason $500 comes up so often with small repairs like this, especially if you drop it off without getting several estimates and it falls under what the level a typical insurance co would be involved at......your deductible is usually $500....insurance co never gets involved directly....but if you have another estimate to negotiate with...now then I bet they would look at it again and quote another # closer to what the lowest one you had was....but it sounds like you are all done now and fixed. They prob charged you rack rates for everything to get you to the $500 figure....cause they prob have less then $250 in the job both shop expense and paint.
