Warning 12 volt charging system problem

I experienced this warning light yesterday after driving for about 15 minutes. I pulled over and stopped the car. When I restarted it, the warning did not reappear. Anyone else experience this? Was there an actual failure of some sort? Is there a dealer fix?

battery cables loose?

happens once; chalk it up as a fluke.
keep an eye on it and if it happens again, take it to the dealer.

It's a known occasional problem and the newest firmware on the NAV removes the problem.

The only problem is that you get the warning, however. It's not any kind of charging fault.

I got it once on my first RLX and it seemed to be related to having two cheap DC-to-USB converters plugged in at the same time. :-)

Hybrid TSBs?

Does anyone know if any of the RLX's TSBs relate to the Sports Hybrid? I imagine the suspension ones would not because our setup is completely different but there is a long list. I bet people on this board may know more than the dealership service techs since mine is the only Hybrid they are likely to see for the next year.....the Hybrid is probably not something that is even on their radar.

I haven't seen a darned thing to complain about yet! :-) If I had to review the car right now, the language would be full of superlatives.

I checked my VIN on Acura's website and I did not see any TSBs applicable to my particular car. Just wondering if the SH-AWD has many unique parts beyond the trans/power/and hybrid electronics.

This issue was originally TSB 14-017, but Acura used the TSB number for the 2015 TLX instead, per my posts in the TSB sticky thread below.

It was never reissued to date. However, I did save the original.

See my TSB posts in the RLX TSB sticky thread for applicable models.

No TSBs and only recalls will show up on the Acura Owner's Link website.

My 2014 RLX PAWS gave the electrical problem (not charging) indication in the MID Display when driving into DC this week. The next morning it was fine and I drove back to NC with no further problem indication.

Crown Acura in Greensboro checked out the full electrical system and everything was fine. The dealership then did a software update as per bulletin 14-028.

Love my RLX. Best road car ever owned. Got 31.4 miles per gallon at an average speed of 63 mph on the trip from NC to DC and return. I was running at 73 - 78 mph for most of the journey.

I got this message tonight after I was setting up Bluetooth on my wife's phone. Go figure as I'm showing her the features of the car on Day 2 of ownership and she gets an error message!

Looks like a software update at the dealer is in order.

RLX-Sport Hybrid had reported that his SH RLX had the suspension rattle issue, and I recall him giving some pretty extensive details on the dealer having to work with Acura to get it fixed. In the end they found that the front suspension components were way too lose and could literally be clamped by hand. Something it should not be able to do by design. So based on his experience, the Sport-Hybrid is not 100% immune to the issues.

I wonder if the suspensions issues have not just been a design issue, but also exacerbated by either assembly issues at Saiyama and/or quality control issues from the parts manf. whereby bad suspension components (or bad assembly) have leaked into the final product. It would at least explain why some RLX's have exhibited the suspension issues more prominently than others.

I've never got the warning on my 2nd RLX; however, I got it on my 1st RLX when I was using two DC-to-USB converters at the same time.

They were cheap off brand things that worked fine except that they'd throw that warning on the RLX.

Same devices used on the 2nd RLX do not cause the problem.
