Question Blue Headlight mode for US?

One of the options in Japan is blue headlights in the legend, I'm guessing it's just a different color LED but wondered if anyone had any info on it. I think I'd have to get the JDM ones and use the oven trick to move the blue LEDs to the USDM headlights so they are still aimed properly.

Seems like the DTRL are blue and then at night it's white.

why do all the retrofitting, if you could just buy the JDM version?
ie; you're creating work for yourself when you could just throw the JDM version on the car.

What year is your RLX? The +18 RLX added a DRL light strip below the LEDs. Not sure if the blue LEDs are available for the +18 RLX/Legends in Japan?

+18 RLX LEDs with DRL light bar:

Yeah, for the +18 RLX/Legend the headlights are the same in US or Japan and I think you mentioned the reason for it being the LED strip to replace the DRL

Japan drives on the other side of the road so a direct swap would likely blind oncoming traffic, I guess you could open the USDM headlights and just swap the LEDs fromt he JDM lights to keep the properly aimed beam pattern while getting the look.

Check your state regulations on blue lights first. I know here in NH you can't have blue lights of any kind, front or rear, since it's limited to police vehicles only. I know first hand since my son got pulled over years ago for having blue LED windshield washer nozzles on his (then) Saab 900. YMMV

if one can aim the headlights via headlight adjustment that would be an easier fix than retrofitting...

also, I didnt know the RLX has a step in the beam pattern...can anyone confirm there's a step in the beam pattern?

I checked and apparently OH has no such restriction

yep, RLXs have a step beam pattern. Most likely blue and red are off limits for headlights, just not sure in what states but definitely here in SC. “Demon eye” rgb lights have been popular for awhile in the mod scene, cool for show cars but a lil over the top for a daily IMO. I’m not too far removed from that scene lol
