Settings
They do guess!! The manual says they generate signals eliminated upon compression. So since they have no idea what those signals were, they must guess.
I thought maybe they widened the sound field or something.
Anyway, back to settings...What setting do most use for air conditioning; "auto" or just plain "A/C on"? Am I correctly thinking auto would provide A/C as well as heating in an attempt to keep the cabin at the set temperature and A/C on would only cycle the compressor??

I know MPEG removes the high end harmonics as well as some low frequency. They must try to add that back in.
edit: found this, kind of interesting. Sounds like "educated guessing"

In terms of AC settings, I keep mine on Auto which engages heat or AC depending on the need. One of my complaints in my RL was that I had to adjust the temps in the morning compared to afternoon. So far in the RLX have not had to adjust the temp.
That is what I do, too.
You don't really know when the compressor is turned on because if you're set to Auto the light won't come on. The light's only on if you've set the AC to remain on.
I read that someone here has difficulty with how it's cycling and he says his windows fog up sometimes.
But I've just finished the messiest winter we've had in a very long time (if it wasn't snowing, it was raining) and I never had a problem just leaving it on Auto.

Do you leave ACC and LKAS on all the time?
Also wondering what the two empty button spots on lower left portion of dash. There are 6 button spots, but only 4 with buttons. Thought the Advance had everything. Is it left for other Hybrid feature/functions?

I pretty much do that as well...I was just wondering if a 320 bit rate mp3 converted to CDA would sound any better than a 320 bit rate mp3 on a USB stick... I know 320 is 320, but some systems may sound better if the source is Cd over MP3
My home system (Denon) has a restorer feature that really makes a mp3 sound better..wonder if the RLX does the same thing

I have Krell audio components in my house (I'm a big audio hobbyist) and they sound fantastic. I'll have to see if I can find a Advanced car next time I'm at the dealer.
just reread my post above - I reported in another thread that the usb memory reader does not support high quality
But, in terms of settings, here's a strange one. In Navi settings for Route, you can set Toll Roads to "Max" or "Min". What "Off" or "Ignore" and find direct route no matter what toll roads are there?

I'd have more use for that...a little more use.
But you'd still lose fidelity, wouldn't you? Does an HD even do 256K?
They're turned on all the time, although I am not always using them. I'll usually leave the centre display on the compass when I'm not navigating, just because it's the best looking display.
I dunno. I have been in a Hybrid and it had fog lights, so maybe one of the buttons was for them, but to be honest I did not look or notice!
I didn't really look at the turn signal stalk carefully enough to notice if the fog light controls were on there, either.
