RLXh sales?

I've been avoiding this forum recently simply to deflate my interest but, having looked at availability on Autotrader it seems sales for the hybrid are stalled with 99 showing, although I admit, I'm note certain how reliable that info may be.
That suits me fine since that may indicate bargains in the not too distant future.
As far as some being disappointed with fuel economy? Are you kidding? It's still 40-50% better than the competition!

I see 96 available-not many sold in the last three weeks or so. I believe customers that were most interested including those who obtained them on this board-bought quickly. Unless significant dealer incentives are rolled out by Acura I am afraid sales will more likely than not be slowed to a trickle. With the delays now extending to the Legend in Japan, who knows when the 2016 models will ship and with these 90+
cars still not sold maybe Acura does not care.

I would consider one with a discount and would need silver/black advanced. Also I think releasing the 14 as 15's are rolling out hurts too.

It likely explains the "no marketing" stance.

Today's the proverbial day of the year to buy one if you want a deal. End of year, month, and quarter. Had I a little more discipline, I would have waited until now. However....Zoomer says it will right above your post--if you test drive one you will buy.

Your excuse is that if you'd waited this long you would absolutely not have an Advance package, and you'd probably not have a black one.

Another missed opportunity for Honda/Acura to talk about 3 motor AWD EV including the NSX + RLX Sports Hybrid. Their marketing department must be really really bad.

They have a marketing department? I hardly noticed...they really need to up their game in a very competitive marketplace.

There's a Pewter Advanced 2 miles away, $67K, 0.9% financing.

I wouldn't say their marketing is bad. They just don't have the money! Other car makers throw way more money towards their marketing departments than Honda/Acura. Not sure why, perhaps they ride the wave of word-of-mouth more than anyone else. However, with all the recalls lately, its not like you expect them to pump up the budgets of their marketing people any time soon. On the other hand Toyota a while back did exactly that. They threw all their resources behind the marketing people to fix their image problem after the "sudden acceleration" fiasco.

Just some thoughts...

PS. Anyone seen any official ads for the Nissan GT-R anywhere? Nop. There was a reason why. Big cheese Carlos said "no ads"!

PS. The RLXh is for hardcore Acura fanatics. They'll buy one. Actually they did. Now, if aaaaall the moderators of acurazine buy one, they'll sell out

LOL

PS I saw a CPO RLXh Advance on Autotrader with 67 miles for $63k. I'll find the link after work if it hasn't been swiped yet. Someone obviously had buyer's remorse right after their test drive. Too bad....... or it was a typo.

I kinda get the feeling that people who buy cars in this segment tend to be hard to satisfy and have very specific expectations. Buyer's remorse doesn't seem too out of the question. lol

That CPO Forged Silver Advance with only 67 miles is still on Autotrader, for only $61k. Surprised no one has picked that puppy up for the price.

Cars for Sale: 2014 Acura RLX Hybrid w/ Advance Package in Hoffman Estates, IL 60169: Sedan Details - 388922446 - AutoTrader.com

I also happened onto a used Advance with 13k miles on it. This car went into service in January....2014, and it has service visits all over the country, from WI to AL, where it now is being sold. $55k if you want an Sport Hybrid Advance. If the car checks out, it seems to be a hell of a deal. Given in service date of January a year ago, I bet this was a press car.

i think its the dealer. they plate it to justify the lowered price and to fulfill their floor plan i guess

one of the worst decision i believe Acura did is release the RLXh at the end of 2014 and not calling them 2015. like i noted before, very few people i know would spend this much money on last year's model car

you realize they were built 9 months prior and already had a VIN# with 2014 in it

Yup, once a car has a VIN it can't be changed, it violates law anywhere on the planet. The model year is embedded in the VIN. The VINs on these cars are almost a year old.

Well to be honest, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is just as valuable regardless of if it was a 1962 or a 1963. Yes I am trying to be funny.

I think the SH is an instant collectable just based on the low volume of production alone. That does not mean it will appreciate, but to the right buyer years from now, it should sell for more than book if it is pristine, which mine will be. My oldest son asked today if he would be able to drive it when he is old enough. I said...... uhmmmm..... no. No negotiations. Not, so maybe there is a chance. Just plain no.

Should I have purchased rather than leased? I've got enough low-volume collectibles in my collection as is.

I did. Nobody can have too many collectables. Just ask Jerry S (Mr. NSX).

come on SH the RLXh is not a collectible. it is a great car and i bet you the 2017 that i will be driving three years from now will be even better.

go out enjoy it. try it with the VSA off to find its limits. it is a great girlfriend not a wife. dont be shy exploring all it has to offer. sorry for the crude analogy.

You realize, I was kidding around.

I'm hoping they update the style by the time my lease is over.

Yes I do understand it is NOT a collectable. Just a little banter here. Take it easy dude.

i know you were kidding. i also believe SH was kidding too.

the RLX is a truly wonderful vehicle enough so that some may think that we are disingenuous lavishing this much praise on it. i have had over 50 vehicles with 37 years of driving and truly the RLX is one of the best.
