RLX pricing and Jaguar

FYI, I'll make this as short as I can. I previously owned a 06 RL, then another 06 RL, and finally a 2010 TL SH-AWD 6MT. I was an Acura fan but always lusted for a 2010 Jaguar XF Supercharged, when they switched to the 5.0 V8. I finally bought a used one a few years ago and fell in love. The plan was to buy a new RLX when they came out, plans changed. I went and looked at the new ones and test drove one when it first came out, didn't fall in love with the styling or the brittle ride. At that time the dealer wouldn't budge an inch on price. Fast forward to a few months ago and I took a second look. This time I brought it home to show the wifey, she didn't care. I was looking at an Advanced which stickers for $61 and change I do believe. Without even asking about actual price manager came to talk to me and said $48k, amazing price. Now we all know why they are selling them for $48 right now and it scared the hell out of me for future depreciation. Anyways I bought a 2012 XFR and I couldn't be happier. RLX is amazing and I hope to own an Acura again when they get their act together. Moral of the story is if you're looking to buy, now is the time! Sorry that wasn't short.

Yup. Now is the time to buy PAWS. Unfortunately, many of us are awaiting the sport hybrid. It's obviously still baking in the oven. Hopefully it comes out right.

The XF series has amazing style and the supercharged variant is a hoot to drive. I'd say you are lucky to try it twice.

My problem with Jaguar is that we were looking for Tata to improve production standards and reliability, and from all reports so far that isn't happening.

I suppose we forgot how many British men were on the board of Tata.

I'm sure they've improved Jaguar's customer service call centers.

Indeed. I was actually at my dealer for an oil change on my 06 TL and saw a GLM RLX Navi heavily discounted. I was interested in a 2015 TLX SH-AWD but considering the generous trade in allowance and .9% financing this was a no brainer.

Btw, enjoy the Jag, that's a nice ride.

I had a lot of problems with the 10 supercharged that I had but the 12 XFR so far hasn't had any problems. It was all stupid stuff that would never go wrong in a Acura too. I knew I was going to have problems though going into the relationship. There has never been any major issues that would leave me stranded or anything. Engine and transmission are fine, just little things like creaky sunroofs and stuff.

Cool car and I hope you enjoy it, but a Jag wouldn't be my first choice if I were concerned about depreciation.

That's the exact reason I buy them used. The 2012 XFR I just got was 88k new and I bought it with 15k miles for 51k, CPO. It's black with the black pack too.

Sometimes I miss it.

But I have to admit that my 90 minute commute back home is far, far less tiring using the automatic and adaptive cruise control. FAR less tiring.

I work from home so I didn't really have to deal with lots of traffic. Driving stick and wanting to hear the vtec kick in from the air intake caused me to get 5 tickets in one year. Haven't had any with the last two Jags. I will post pics tomorrow when I get on my computer. Anyone blacked out the beak on their RLX and tint the windows? That's what I was going to do.
