I also emailed my dealer to see if they have any real delivery dates.....

That would be risky, because they're still coming from Saiyama (Saitama), which has such a low production rate you have to wonder how much hand assembly is involved.
My guess is no, we won't see a lot of extra marketing.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

Boy, with all this great praise on the 2014 RLX SH from the owner on this forum you really got me thinking about the 2016 SH. When I brought my 2015 I really wanted the RLX SH but my dealer told me at the time he did not know when or if it will become available. I have a call into him on the 2016 Sh and see if they will work with me for the 2016 SH since I paid cash for the 2015. If I can keep the lost to somewhere between 5 to 10 K I will probably go for it. I would but the Advance model, Black on Black.

It's funny this came up right now, however, because I was listening to someone who is a partner [a tuner company], who says they have been playing around with different capacity batteries and what they'd have to do with the charging system to allow for them, and whether it might make sense to have different electric motors on the rear as a part of a tuner package.
I cannot imagine that this would be a truly feasible idea for them economically, because it all sounded very expensive, and the likelihood that any significant percentage of an already small percentage of total owners would be interested in this kind of performance improvement seems remote, to say the least.
People are only just now starting to play around with ECU of the DI motors, too, so we'll see where they go with that without causing problems.

I think the Sport Hybrid is going to continue to be unusual, with dealers getting just one or two cars each for the entire production.
I hope it's different this time around, and I hope we can see significant numbers of them on the road...I hope that, but I don't really think that.

Got my VIN
Although I am still out of the country, my Acura GM contacted me today that my SH just arrived in the US. A 2016 SH RLX Advance Graphite Luster / Graystone should be in my hands for my birthday.

Wow! Congrats. Did you negotiate the price at all? From previous posts, you obtained a great deal on your RL.

George i am seriously thinking about it. I bought the RLX at a really great price, and i paid cash for it. So if they give me an ok trade in number, and an ok sale number on the Sport Hybrid i will most likely go for it. I really like the RLX P-AWS, so if it does not work out i am ok with that also. I will NOT test drive it unless i decide to buy it, following the advice of the Sport Hybrid owners.......

What incentive do they have to give you a great deal on your trade and a great deal on brand new car which every dealer is gonna get a handful. I am guessing they will go around sticker if not more. Supply & demand

I'm very encouraged that a dealer already has one in stock.
That might very bode well for a more organized delivery system this year...and it might mean we're getting more of them!
That'd be great.

Incentive is probably the wrong word versus what lost are we willing to take. I expect to pay full price for the 2016 SH Advance. I am hoping I can get them to throw in the mud flap, lock wheels and trunk mat package as part of the deal.

I hope you have as much fun as the beta-testers seem to be having. For me, the thrill hasn't yet worn off after 8 months with the car. I still look forward to the drive every time I slide into the front seat.

This all seems like marketing 101 to me but Acura recently seems to be using a different playbook [or they only have marketing folks who spent most of their time studying engineering not marketing].
I guess time will tell. The 2016 Sport Hybrid is a great opportunity for Acura to begin to polish their brand image. Here's hoping they feel the same way and have the folks to do it.

It's not at all clear that they'll be worn out at 100K miles just because that's the length of the warranty.

thank you. since you obtain just a great deal. I am thinking contemplating on negotiating for one as well. I have had my car for 12 years but it does run well.

On behalf of the dozen (or so) beta testers, I plead guilty and accept the blame! Looks like our ranks are swelling by two or three. You guys are going to love your cars. As others have said, I still smile every time I get in it to drive. Please post your reviews.

I spoke last week with one of the top execs at my dealership. They received 2 of the 2014 SH models, and have been promised only 6, maybe 7, for the entire 2016 model year. And this is the largest USA Acura dealership. Looks like very limited production again.
#31
why is that the largest USA acura dealership? does that dealership deal with 2 states? I would think the largest would be in dallas or Houston or some place with a Large city. I have seen the dealership here have less then 10 cars on it at on time. I didn't know virgina was that large of a place?

Yay
The 2016 RLX hybrid is on Acura.com ? Official Home of Acura Cars and SUVs now. However, there seems to be no surprises in terms of accessories or color combos.
Still waiting for the advance to get the ebony option for the white & pomegranate (the MDX got it this year).
As much as I want(ed) a hybrid, I have had my PAWS less than a year so will probably wait unil the 2017(?) MMC -- or if I were smart, the next generation but that could be another 9 year model run.

If people haven't experienced NoVA, they don't really understand the number of people involved, or the relative median incomes involved.

Welcome to the Old Dominion and Great Commonwealth. :-)
It's your definitive "purple" state, with great bastions of the liberal movement in Fairfax and Norfolk...while, on the other hand, Richmond and parts of Piedmont have never quite recovered from losing the War Between the States.

The first shipment has arrived on the west coast and likely none have arrived at dealers yet.
I received an update that mine will arrive in Tampa Bay 6/24-6/28. The VIN is #47.
Perhaps dealers near the port of entry will have them in the next few days. Perhaps Colin got the Hawaii bound units?
Also, I notice the wood steering wheel accessory for 2016 RLXs, but likely will not match the trim of the SH? unless the wood trim for all 2016 is the same? It can wait.

I am still waiting for my dealer to call me back. They told me when I first talk to them two days ago had not heard about the 2016 SH for sale yet and are contacting their Acura rep. This is Ferman Acura in Tampa.

Man you must have some pull, I finally got a call back from my dealer and he told you had some pull because it was order in March. My order was place today, black on black, and it will be 90 days before it arrives. They asked me what color I wanted. Required no deposit or commitment and if I don't want it when it comes in they will just sell it. I am already sold.
