I thought I would provide an update on my 2016 SH order. I talked to the dealer today and no news on a production date, delivery date or anything. We can't talk numbers because they have no idea when, or if, the SH will be delivered. The latest quote I received on the trade in of my 2015 RLX Advance with 10,900 miles is $35,300. I told the dealer at this rate of depreciation I will be paying them to take the RLX PAWS. I have been looking at MB SLK and SL for a weekend fun car. I planned on having both the SH and a roadster, I looked at the porches but I want a retractable hardtop. Any way this is the latest news, I am starting to question whether Acura really wants to sell the SH. I might just trade the car in on the MB and forget the SH unless I can get some news fairly soon.

Dealers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and other north east locations have starter listing 2016SH's on their websites. All are Advance models so it is strange that there is no information for Woropallo. Some dealers list two vehicles as well.

Woropallo, have you considered asking your dealer for a transfer from another dealer? That's how I got mine. It was transferred from a dealer in West Virginia, to Cleveland.
Or simply going to another dealer? Even outside your area?
Autotrader shows dealers starting to get their SHs. Maybe your dealer has no allocation, or Acura is really pulling the "only 250" thing again, so not every dealer gets one.
Either way, this sucks as a way to sell the flagship sedan.

Sorry to hear you're having so many problems getting the car you want. Crazy. But I hope you think twice before springing for the MB - unless you like visiting your dealer a lot!

But I didn't want to sound like a Honda shill. :-)
Still, such a huge difference between an SLK350 and the SL550...I don't know....
And I think the SL series is due for a complete change next model year, right?
I understand the charm of the idea, but...I wouldn't do it.

I will check it out, but now it raises question about my dealer, I know they can swap cars with other dealers. Thanks for the advise?

I was going to say he should look at Consumer Reports data before buying either roadster.
But I didn't want to sound like a Honda shill. :-)

Thanks for the advise, You are correct the SLK is changing to SLC and SL is changing. I also looked at the Boxer since I saw it was rated as #1 for roadsters but I really want a retractable hardtop not soft top? I also looked at the BMW 435 and M4. The M4 was quite impressive with it 435hp. As I said just looking for a weekend sport car. Personally the Tesla is my real love but can't get pass the 45 min charging requirement for long trips and the interior. I love the technology, The exterior looks great but the interior is low end for the cost of the car, jmho and the mrs and I always wanted a sport car. We are at a stage in our life where we either do it now are we will probably never do it, getting up in years. It on our bucket list.

Yes, but having problem with the dealer as far as numbers. They don't want to come down on the SH, sell it to me for MSRP plus accessories and only want to give me $34,000 for my car. My car an 11 month old 2015 RLX PAWS Advance with accessories and 11,700 miles. Not sure I want to take that kind of a hit and buy a car that depreciate this fast. Looking at the web, the RLX appears to not hold it value, both the RLX or SH. Most luxury cars do depreciation fast but not as bad as the RLX. But I can't seem to get the dealer to negotiate, I knew this may happen when I told them I was interested in the car and they did not want to talk numbers. May just walk away and see if they are willing to budge. If not I will dump the car for a sport car. If I am going to take that kind of a hit I might as well get a totally different car. but this time I will lease.

$34k, ugh. That's a primary reason I leased. I wasn't taking that depreciation hit, even on the hybrid.
It's almost the end of the month. Try again then?

Have you checked with your insurance company about the reduced value due to the accident?
State Farm makes up the difference in value because of an accident, so it seems to me other companies might do the same.

You drive it, you buy it.
Rare color on a rare car. Hopefully the wait and frustrations to acquire it will dissipate quickly. It did for me.
Did you request it in advance or lurked and pounced when one arrived?

I think this color complements the RLX a lot.....
I am still driving my P-AWS (until they get the SH registered), so the wait is not over yet:-)
I did request it, and my dealer did everything they could to get it for me. This happened begging of July, so it was a little of a wait. They matched it with this car when it was being built, and it landed at the dealer a couple of days ago.

I read 2 types of experiences acquiring the SH. One is dealers going the extra mile to connect their customer with the car. The other are dealers, with more a 'take it or leave it' attitude.
My dealer contacted me May 1st to start the search > match > delivery process. My SH was delivered to me on July 8.
Sounds similar for you, with a few weeks shaved off. Granted, I was in the 1st batch for the new model year.

This was supposed to have been settled back in Dec. And it's now August and I'm three letters in deep with the insurance co. with a "final intent to sue" being recently sent.
All of this because of another driver. But I'm also trying to keep things in perspective, especially in comparison to RLX Sport-Hybrid's situation.

Was it a dealer you had a prior relationship with?

When you have time to absorb it all, we will look forward to your assessments from the PAWS to the SH. Many similar reviews and always nice to get another perspective. It is always good to hear of a viewpoint you have not considered or observed yourself.
But if Acura is observing the similarities in how this car appeals to us, they need to find a means to harness that and translate it into marketing. Unless, of course we are too small a community and, which George has eluded, why did they even bother with this car???
For me, personally, don't know and at this point, don't care. I love this car and I am convinced it was the only replacement for my beloved RL.

pgeorg, welcome to the SH club. Glad to have another 2016 driver posting here.
I am interested in hearing your experiences with the infotainment system. It is the only [minor] disappointment I have had with the 2014 model. Tampa has reported that it has been improved. How difficult/easy you find the user interface is to use would be helpful to hear [especially to the Acura folks who occasionally read AZ].
Enjoy your ride, you are gonna love it. My experience is that the love only grows as enjoy your time in the driver's seat.

I will definitely do my best in posting my experience on the updated infotainment system, and the user interface.....although i don't think the Acura folks listen very well! If they did they would have heard all of you posting here for the last year or so.......:-(

pgeorg - Congatulations and welcome to the Legions-of-the-Best-Kept-Secret-in-AutoLand. I hope and expect that you will love the car. I am into my tenth month, and I can honestly say that - unlike any car I have ever owned - I still have that new car feeling every time I drive my SH-AWD. The handling, the power, the acceleration, the quiet - all make driving this car amazingly comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. On long trips, aside from the pleasure of the ride, I get to my destination less tired than in any other car I have owned. It's just plain fun!
I, too, got well treated by my dealer, who knew I was waiting to replace my '06 RL, and got as their first delivery the trim/color I wanted. The 2014 was an engineering tour de force, and the 2016 adds several good improvements. Enjoy, and try to keep your speed down!
