NSX Engineer Q&A
I posted this in the NSX forum, but thought I would post it here since he speaks about Sport Hybrid technology.

^^Thanks for posting. I'm really interested in seeing the driving reviews of this technology. I think it has huge potential, of course in the NSX, but also in the RLX and maybe other sedans.
BTW, I notice you have a CTS - V. A friend owns a V sedan. I was out with him a few weeks ago, and the V package totally transforms this car. What a special car. Very, very fast.

Yeah, not sure how much you know about me. Had Acuras for almost 20 years. My last one was an '06 RL that I loved.
I fell in love with the CTS coupe when it debuted back in 2011, but I was waiting to see what the RLX was going to look like. When I saw the initial photos of the RLX I made the jump to the Caddy. To be fair though, the CTS electronics are about 5 years old and don't compare to the the RLX, now the next gen CTS ('14) is another story, but I'm not in love with the looks. I like it better than the RLX, but I don't love it.
I always wanted a V though. I was deciding between a 2014 CTS V-Sport sedan (TT 3.6L V6 420 HP) or the true V (SC 6.2L V8 556 HP). While the V-Sport is the updated car, I just love the style of the coupe and... Oh man, that supercharged V8!
I was getting prices on a new 2013/14 V-Coupe before they ceased production and I ended up finding a CPO '12 V-Coupe with all the features I wanted a few hours away (Black Diamond paint, two tone Recaros, black wheels, yellow painted Brembos, dark wood and the suede steering wheel and shifter). It was three months newer and only had 9,800 miles compared to the 21K on my 3.6L coupe.
The car is an absolute beast. The torque and power is intoxicating. As someone on the V forums said, the only thing it won't pass is a gas station, but I knew that going in. I'll post a few pictures.

Very nice V coupe. What a sweet-looking car. You made the right choice I think going with the V8. Anyone who's not ridden in or driven that car can't fully understand what a beast it is. Fastest sedan I've even been in. Even at about 35 mph, it was going sideways in the back when he nailed the go pedal! My head was truly pinned to the seatback. Thanks for sharing.

Happened to me this morning. Pulled out of my subdivision and traffic was coming up on me. I was trying to get up to the 50mph speed limit quickly. I was up to about 35 mph and pressed the accelerator a bit harder and the tires broke loose and she started going sideways before the nannies kicked in.
Now it didn't help that i still have summer tires on and it was about 35 Degrees F this morning so the tires hadn't warmed up yet and weren't hooking up, but I heard that it will do the same when it's warm and the rubber is warmed up.
Lots of torque.
With respect to my earlier comment about the older electronics, it's still no slouch. The car still has...
Heated and cooled Recaro seats
Rain sensing wipers
Headlight washers
NavTraffic
Remote Start
OnStar with the remote app that allows you to start the car, review diagnostics and send directions to the in-dash NAV
Adaptive headlights
Adjustable Magnetic Ride Control
Rear view camera
Back up sensors
Blind spot monitoring
Etc.....
It's just that the NAV is an older generation, but given the criticism that CUE has received, it may not be a bad thing, although I had no issues when I drove an SRX loaner.

That's all fine and good, but now can we have a Q&A with a TLX engineer?

Thanks for sharing the video.
Also, nice photo-whoring of your V coupe. I approve, of course. Man that combo is great-looking! Once you've gone V8 with instantaneous torque, it's really hard to give it up.
I only mention V8s because I'm still at least a little grumpy about Acura passing on the Legend Max a few years ago (RL, SH-AWD, 500 hp V8). I would still be an Acura owner.....oh, never mind, I've mentioned that hundreds of times here.
To bring it back to the point of the thread, I will partially forgive Honda/Acura if they can prove that the 377 combined hp of the sport hybrid RLX, or the somewhere far north of that power of the upcoming NSX, make for an entertaining drive. Fingers crossed for those RLX driving impressions!

Didn't the guy say his favorite Acura was an Integra Type R?

Yes, he did, and on the Nurburgring. What a lucky bastard.
I'd love to drive an ITR, too, just to say I have.

The torque is fun.
The ITR was the spirit and identity that Acura seems to have lost over the last few years. Same with the TL Type-S models.
Remember the old tag line, "Precision Crafted Performance"? That embodied (IMO) what differentiated Acura from the other brands.
Then they lost their way, remember the tag line, "Some things are worth the price"?
Well apparently people today don't think the RLX is worth the price.
In my opinion they should go back to being the techie, performance luxury brand. That was who they were.
