I Don't Like The (h)
I Don't Like The (h)
I don't like the (h) because it is very Lexus and Toyota-like, and because it fails to hint properly at the enormous difference between the RLX P-AWS car and the RLX Sport Hybrid.
Just want to go on the record with that.

But you can call it whatever you want, "A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet"......
Interesting topic, IMHO the RLX is an RLX whether it PAWS or SH AWD. It remainds me of the other brands like Toyota, Lexus, etc. They have their high end gas version and a hybrid version which usually cost a few thousand dollars more. The difference in the label is "Hybrid"

Hmmm....I have to think about this. I do not mind the (h) label because I wanted a call with electric propulsion in it but did not want to give up range. I like SH-AWD Sports Hybrid best; it captures what I bought.
But to those that do not mind (h) because we have another (h) here are few things to help you deal with the anxiety
(h) could be Hell on wheels!
(h) could be Halcyon (ooommmm because it is so quiet)
(h) could be Havoc (that you wreak on unsuspecting cars)
(h) could be Humble....because after all it is a wolf in sheep's clothing

If it gets to 60 in less than 5 seconds, it's not an (h), it's a Sport Hybrid.
If it utilizes the electric motors to achieve torque vectoring for amazing handling, it not an (h), it's a Sport Hybrid.
If it uses the electric motors to drive the rear wheels while the ICE is driving the front wheels, it's not an (h), it's a Sport Hybrid.
If it's an RLX with three electric motors doing all of the above, it's not an (h), it's a Sport Hybrid.
Just my two cents.

Frankly you are all cutting the name short. But since you are splitting hairs....
The official moniker is Sport Hybrid Super Handling All Wheel Drive or:
SH-SH-AWD. Focusing on the hybrid or sport component dismisses the achievement of Honda taking SHAWD to the next level by combining SHAWD technology with Hybrid attributes. The game changer being: 'Lets make a hybrid sporting' - which is somewhat oxymoronic.
But since you cannot have an current RLX as a hybrid without SHAWD the SH abbreviation really addresses both attributes (Sport Hybrid and Super Handling).

If you are now point out SH is Super Handling AND Sport Hybrid (by the badges SH being blue) then you should have split that hair in your OP.
And for the record, we discussed this nearly 2 years ago when most of us choked on SH-SH-AWD. That badge would have added enough weight to the tail of the car to achieve a 50/50 weight distribution.
It's the Sport Hybrid. They're marking the appellation further and deliberately with blue letters instead of the red.
But it's still the Sport Hybrid, and when the system begins to show up in other models it will still be the Sport Hybrid.
Just calling it an (h) discredits the system because the casual reader infers from the nomenclature that it is just like the Lexus hybrid system, which has no sporting pretense.
The current IMA-derived Civic is not called a Sport Hybrid. It's just the Civic Hybrid.
The Accord is not the Sport Hybrid. It's just the Accord Hybrid.
Objection to the provenance of the premise, my lord.
