I hope they are able to get it some decent prime time on television.
If you freeze frame on the three cars abreast, you can make out the final design of the TLX nose, with the aggressive blade removed. Still close to the concept shown at Detroit.
I'm sure you all love it that the RLX is the one that pulls ahead.
Acura sees itself as the real horsepower, eh. Interesting.
Strange, but I like it.

^^ They present themselves as the 'come from behind' dark horse.

I like it. It is a long promo, and will get chopped down for typical commercial spots. It also showcases a cohesive look for the brand with the RLX, TLX, NSX showcased, yet each model has distinct purpose.
That said, I like the mechanical horses having LED styled eyes to hint at competitors. If I were the producer, I would have inserted a spot just before the horse transforms into the RLX with a zoom in on the horse's eye and the jewel eyes appear, zooming back out to the RLX.
It has a look and feel of some of the older Acura commercials that I liked. But interestingly this is a new ad firm? Maybe the clumsy delivery of 'Luxury, Luxury, Luxury', Comedians in Cars, etc has been directed back to older Acura images?
Last, I find it an awkward juxtaposition to change from the arrogance of 'Advance' to being the dark horse coming from behind in 'The Race'.

As far as I know "luxury" was the last for the old firm. I believe that the Comedians campaign is by the new guys but obviously directed at a different audience being all web based.

That doesn't seem to appear in the images we saw after Detroit, or in this video.
Or perhaps I am hallucinating. :-)

Acura's marketing may have been been weak it the past, and their design choices may have have been less than "leading edge", but their business survival model which has traditionally focused on the concept of "quality always first" has served them, and their customers, very well!
Now, this is an excellent commercial which throws down the gauntlet and notifies all parties to include, supporters, detractors and competitors that its "Game On" and some serious ass-kicking is to follow...
Love this commercial!!!

Great ad. Let's hope that's real Acura VTEC engine sound.

Am I the only one that thinks the TLX styling already makes the RLX look dated after only a year?
