2014 Rlx logical buy?
2014 Rlx logical buy?
This is the type of thread that probably gets little attention, but I hope someone answers. I am looking to spend around 15k on a used car and really liked a 2014 rlx with around 92000 miles. I do know these cars have a few problems and this is a high mile example...but it is still an Acura. Upon in depth test drives it was immaculate except for a single hard shift when flooring it from first or maybe second. I checked the service records and it has just had regular services and inspections. It is a one owner car and the (well known and well reviewed) dealer is asking 16k. I am asking for trouble if I buy this car?
Tiers,
There are several rather recent threads with the subject matter you are seeking, often from new and prospective buyers.
I am confident that about 30 mins of serious reading through the recent threads here will give you a really good background for your decision. There is wayy too much good stuff in those threads to do a paragraph summary.
For pricing, of course KBB, cars dot com, and others will get you in the ball park.

There's one for sale with 200,000 miles and many with 150,000+. You should be fine.

Appears to be plenty of options out there in that price/mileage range. Depending on where you live, you may have more of a selection. I'd have to be comfortable with knowing the car may have some ride quality issues etc., and I'd want to get a hold on the maintenance records (which hopefully are satisfactory). If you can physically get to the vehicle, you could always spend $100+/- and have the vehicle checked out. If it doesn't check out, you are only out $100 instead of 15K. Good luck!
