Question about condition
Question about condition
I'm looking to buy an Acura TL. How does the car hold up after 80,000+ miles? If i decide to buy one with so much milegae, i want it to last since dropping about 15k on a car with so much mileage is a lot.
It's a tough question to answer. I worked for an Acura dealer for 2 years. There would be cars that were traded in just a couple years old and they were beat. Then there would be ones that were showroom cars. How good a car holds up later on in its life depends a lot on how well its been taken care of to that point. If that car with 80,000 miles was taken care of, it should be in great condition. It has about 25,000 miles till the timing belt service. Just make sure before you buy that its gone over with a fine tooth comb. Check everything including service history.
What Dave said. On a car that old, try to get maintenance records on it. Sometimes you luck out and the previous owner was anal, keeping detailed notes of even stuff like wiper blade changes. If you can't get those, it's anyone's guess how that car was taken care of.
