Ran into a weird remote start failure today. I first tried to start the car using the key fob. It kept failing with the red light indicator on the key fob. I was inside the house, a few yards from the garage. After the 3rd try, I switched to use the AcuraLink app. The app failed too, saying something about max failed remote starts, telling me to physically turn ON the car. So much for "remote" start if I have to physically turn ON the car. Perhaps, it's built-in safety after subsequent failures trying to remote start. Kinda like it's thinking someone is trying to hack remote start the car. Remote start had never failed on my old Lexus IS 250. Coming from a software engineer background, I totally understand software safety and also glitches/bugs. But Acura seems to have more bugs on this 3G RDX. They need to ramp up their tech devs or risk falling behind in the auto tech race.
