I just bought a 2021 RDX ASpec, in otherwise great condition but I'm having an issue that I have not concluded whether is a vehicle malfunction or user error.

When I go into park, turn off the vehicle, get out and lock the car, it sometimes kicked back on. The engine starts back up, as if it was coming out of idle mode.

The thing is... when I exit, lock the car, etc., it is shut off - Not in electronic mode, not idling, but powered off completely. I'll exit the car, tap my key fob to confirm that it's locked, and start to walk away. At that point, it sometimes kicked back on as if I hit remote start. The thing is.. I don't have a remote start function.

I'm at a loss as to why this is happening. Perhaps it's an electrical problem? Has anyone else experienced this??

 

UPDATE: So I guess remote start comes as standard on Acura's. Thing is, the key fob I have, does not have the remote start button. I guess if I double (triple?) tap the lock button, that initiates the remote start. So user error it is!

 

Its not standard, maybe it was added to your car as an accessory.

 

What comes with the 21 RDX A Spec can be found at Acura Vehicle Compatibility and what is enabled could be enabled in Acura Link. I think there might be a monthly fee for Acura LInk so maybe the previous owner is paying for your convenience. Having said that I get an email about every 6 months to sign up with my 2022 RDX Base..
