If you have remote start installed in your RDX, you should have received one or two fobs with the remote start on them. I only use my fob to remotely start my RDX (2019 Advanced).

I have a 2020 RDX ASpec and I can remote start it but I have to use the telephone app. The dealer gave me two keys but each fob does not have a remote start function on it.

Same here - 2021 Advance. Have to use the app, which there is a charge for after a few months.

1st post. My question is can I use a key fob instead of using the app?
I am also in Canada, and my 2020 Platinum Elite has the remote start on the FOB.
According to the owners manual (2020). the RDX has 2 types of FOB available. Only the 2-way remote has the the "Engine Hold" button, and the 3 indicator lights. To start the engine the "lock" button must be pressed momentarily, and then immediately press and hold the "Engine Hold" button for about 3 seconds.
If you don't have that button on your FOB, then you can't start your RDX using the FOB.
FYI The 2-way remote will flash a green light momentarily if the engine starts successfully. It will also flash the same green light if your attempt to lock the doors is successful. The "acknowledgment" indicator is handy because I can communicate over 1/2 kilometer with the FOB.

Thank you for the replies would anybody know if I purchase the two wake communication key fob which I do have on my 2020 MDX. If I purchased that key fob for the RDX would I have to get that programmed to control the remote start or would it work out of the box?

The dealer has to program the fobs in order for them to communicate with your vehicle.

Thank you for posting this!!! I may have overlooked this in the owner's manual and didn't ask for the full walk-around from the dealer to show all the features....but I knew my RDX had remote start due to the key fob.
