Rear Door Panel Removal

Hi all,

I’m currently getting ready to install new door handles on my 2024 RDX A-Spec and had a question regarding the rear door panel removal that hopefully someone will have experience with. I know that the front door panels are held on by 3 screws, 2 behind the plastic trim plate under the inner door handle and one below the armrest in the recessed area and then the rest is held on by clips around the door.

On the rear door panels however, I only see the 2 screws behind the inner door handle but not a 3rd screw as with the front door panels. I removed those 2 screws and then started from the bottom corner to undo the clips. I got all the perimeter clips undone but the panel still feels pretty solidly connected somewhere in the middle around the armrest/speaker area. I don’t know if there are just some more clips in that area that need to be pulled off or if I’m somehow missing a 3rd screw but I don’t see one anywhere.I didn’t want to force it and potentially break something without clarifying first so I gave up for the moment.

Has anyone removed their rear door panel or have any additional knowledge about it that they can pass on? I’ve only seen other threads that refer to the front door panels and not the rears.

Thanks!

Yes I’ve seen videos regarding the front door panels but not the rears. I assume it’s the same minus the one screw but I’m just trying to confirm so that I don’t inadvertently break something by prying too hard.

Try looking on other Acura forums or contact a service dept and see if you can get clarification from a service tech.

Sometimes the online parts supplier diagrams can be helpful. For example.

Wow, thanks so much for this! This should be helpful. So then it does look as if there is a screw in the armrest recess though for the life of me, I didn’t see it. I’ll have to take a look at it again now that I’ve seen this diagram.

I just wanted to say, thanks again, rahcu2. Your post allowed me to successfully remove the rear door panel from my car. That third screw eluded me until I saw the diagram you posted and it was easy after that.

For anyone else needing to remove the rear door panel from their 3G RDX, the third screw is located beneath the rubber floor at the bottom of the recess in the armrest. You just need a small tool (I used an interior trim tool with a small pick end) to pry up the rubber floor of the recess and the screw will be right there.

This all makes sense now and I knew there must be a screw or something that I was missing since I had removed the other two screws in the door handle and all of the clips and yet the panel still felt securely fastened in the center around the armrest. This saved me from forcing it and potentially breaking my door panel.
