White bar on left side of infotainment

Had a weird issue that started happening. Has anyone screen the right 1/4 of the display have a white overlay on it? Al when switching between CarPlay and the native screens you can see some artifacts of the CarPlay screen, so it seems like a software rather than hardware issue. Any suggestions. 2019 model.

Do the proportions of the Home Screen stay the same when you have an app like AppleCarPlay in operation. What happens at night? I am wondering if there is a reset for the screen, but if there is it is beyond my knowledge. Lots of sharp folks here.

Same behavior in CarPlay and the native experience. Didn’t think to see what happened with the dimmer on. Will have to check that out.

I couldn’t find any reset for the screen, I may go ahead and do the factory reset

Is your RDX an Advanced trim? That space is for displaying the seat adjustment graphic. Try adjusting the bolster or thigh support, and see if the graphic clears itself.

Unfortunately, it's a Tech so can't do that.

Does it only show up when you have CarPlay connected, or always?

Hey try the three finger reset, and make sure you select to reset the hardware.

Having the same issue

That white bar just happened to me about 3 weeks ago. Very annoying. Did anyone try the "reset" suggested? I hate to ask the dealer service, surely they'll charge to research the issue. Anyone find a TSB on this?

I tried all the resets with no success. I replaced the display unit with used one from Ebay to fix the issue. Unfortunately for me it was hardware (either the LCD or the board connected to it). The process took about 15 minutes and my issue has been solved since.

Could you provide some info on how to replace? You mentioned 15 minutes which is about my limit for auto repairs before my ADHD kicks in. Thanks.

I found a link online that showed how to disassemble the dash to get the screen out (which I can't seem to find). You need a trim removal tool to pop out the hvac controls at the top of the dash which when allows you to pop out the plastic around the screen. Once you do that, there are 2 or 3 screws on the back of the screen to remove. The display unit pops out and there are only 2 plugs that have to be removed. It wasn't too hard, but can be a bit challenging to pop those panels out.
