Can the 4G LTE modem for connected car be updated to 5G?

Acura doesn't offer 5G to my knowledge, but 4G is fast enough for all builtin functions.

If you want 5G data, buy a hotspot from a cell company and leave it tucked out of the way in your glove compartment or trunk.

I use the Tmobile obd2 hotspots, as they offer car-focused features but they do not make a 5G version yet.

Instead of can you, you should be asking why you need to

With multiple people in the car, using connected car WiFi...streaming video or working with larger databases, on long trips, it would be of use to have a 5G connection.

I've never used the built in wifi. Why not just use the hotspot on your phone?
