Little late to this party, but I run a Ktuner on my 4G TL SHAWD 6MT.
It's an absolute must in my opinion, especially with the manual trans. You can turn off rev hang which makes it so much smoother to drive. Monitor data so you can see problems before they become big ones. There are some pre-loaded base tunes for typical bolt on upgrades (exhaust) so you can immediately take advantage of exhaust upgrades. If you get Ktuner V2.0 there are 5 LED lights you can program to light up based on almost any engine condition. I have mine set to be a shift indicator at redline, with a "VTEC on/off" LED in the middle. You have total control over fuel mapping (which I haven't done yet) and VTEC engagement RPM (which I haven't done yet). You can use it to adjust rev limiter, 2-step, all sorts of stuff. It's awesome. Highly recommend.
