Navigation Voice Volume Level

I'm finding that Nav voice volume control does not have enough granularity. It's either to low (hard to hear at highway speeds) or one step louder, and its way to loud. Also, there does not seem to be a setting for auto volume adjust at highway speeds. Anyone else notice this or am I missing something?

Page 35 of the 2019 RDX Navigation Manual. I adjust the volume during guidance using the volume control on the steering wheel to find the "sweet spot".

Right but what I'm saying is that I cannot find a sweet spot. One indent on the slider is to low at highway speeds and the next click up is way to loud.

You don't need to use the slider in the setup menu. Simply adjust the volume with the radio volume knob during guidance. In other words adjust the volume with the volume knob when the navigation voice is speaking,

You can also use the left-hand volume up/down lever on the steering wheel. You MUST make the adjustment while the NAV lady is speaking, else it adjusts the audio/radio volume. Same technique works with phone volume, alarms, etc.

It would be hilarious if there was a voice command where you could scream "SHUT UP, LADY!!" while she was talking and the volume would go down.

There is also a sensitivity setting for the SPEED VOLUME COMPENSATION that you may want to try, it might help with the navigation volume being too low at highway speeds and too high at lower speeds.

If it’s too loud, normally I just tell my wife to be quiet I know where I’m going. YMMV

My 2008 535 had voice guidance, and we did European Delivery. Being the nerd that I am, I had read the entire manual, including voice commands, before going over. I had set up guidance to the hotel, but we got there early, and went on to the first site. The damn guidance kept having me take every road we passed and tried to turn me around. I recalled the command to stop the GPS, and said to the car “Stop Guidance” and it shut up. I thought to myself, ‘I wished this worked in real life”. Unfortunately, I actually said it out loud.

Boy, did I get in trouble.
