I pulled the audio fuse in the larger under dash fuse box (3rd fuse from upper right corner). That did the trick. All my settings were still there. Taking it in to dealer tomorrow to have the system checked out.
This just happened to me me. I can't find the fuse puller. Can someone tell me where it is? I've never had such problems pulling a stupid fuse!

This seems to be a sort of common problem. I was able to reset the audio system using the reboot method from the My Infotainment System Freakout Moment post. Thanks. I love this forum!

Three finger reboot

Hi Madd Dog, I did try the reboot but it didn’t work. I tried it several times and nothing happened. You say to do it twice. What is the timing for this. Like hold for 10 seconds, let go for 5 seconds, press again for 10 seconds? I would LOVE to have a fix that I can do. Like I mentioned, I did try multiple times, but I’m not sure how many seconds between attempts. Thanks for your help.

As as an update, Acura of Seattle service department said that they have been seeing this in other 19 RDXs. They called Acura Corporate and said that they are aware of the problem and that they are working on a fix. Possibly a software update or a hardware replacement.

Hello Chizazen - Hold the 3 buttons down simultaneously that are above the touchpad until the diagnostic screen comes on. Follow the video instructions..
What they mean by doing it twice, is after it reboots, do the entire process again.
Hope this helps.

My screen is just black. It only comes on for the camera in reverse. tried the 3 buttons several times and nothing. Tried pulling both audio fuses under the dash and they are both fine. Any other suggestions for a screen that is just black???

Happened to me yesterday ... Brought it to the dealer and the reconnected the battery to reset it. No blackouts today.

Did they just disconnect the battery and reconnect it? I was going to try that next.

I was going to try this method as well, but don't know why this would work if the 3 button hold down on the touchpad did nothing.

Got the steering wheel buttons hold to work. My issues are "signal" on Meter and Remote Tuner.

That's what they told me ... Not sure if they did anything else.

Battery disconnect worked. Disconnected both terminals for about 5 minutes, including the small grey harness clip connected to the negative terminal. Reconnected and everything fired back up.

Please give more info on what you mean by : "Got the steering wheel buttons hold to work".

And what exactly is the image showing? This is obviously in the instrument panel, not the Infotainment screen. I'm confused.

Thanks!

See post# 49 above for the link to the steering wheel buttons method. push start/stop button twice to enter accessory (i did not start the car). Press and hold the two buttons shown and the pic I show will pop up in the MID (between the tach and speedo). This tells you the issues, but doesn't give you any means to "reboot" anything. Therefore, my last resort was to disconnect the battery, which worked. Hope this helps.

My system has locked up a few more times since my first post last summer. The last time my dealer told me to carry a wrench in the car so I could disconnect the battery. A practical solution, but should I really have to do that in a $45k+ vehicle? Acura needs a real fix to this problem.

Anyway, I’m quoting this post because I have a question about the three finger reboot method. I have not tried it, but in the video I notice he has station presets on the bottom row of his radio before the reboot and he doesn’t after. Does the reboot reset the infotainment system to factory defaults so you lose all your presets, tile organization etc.?

If you don't see your presets, you reboot it a second time and they come back auto-magically. I've had to reboot twice a few times now.

You have a great sales associate driving 40 km with a loaner. Hope that you recommend him to others.

what have you learned about the infotainment? Everything I read is that Acura is aware - but no solution. Saw there is a class action lawsuit. I want to purchase an Acura RDX, but can't until I now this is resolved.

Hi. My 2019 RDX has the same issue - infotainment system freezes with the disclaimer stuck on the screen every now and then after a remote start. However, the 3 finger reboot does not work for me. Any other suggestions?

Really disturbing to see zero resolution to this almost 18 months into production and it’s a probably a software fix with OTA!!!

very disturbing.

"Rarely occurring" issues

Acura's bug logs with the OTA updates always start with a statement that this OTA addresses the following "rarely occurring" issues. I think it's about time they address the issues that happen "most of the time". Acura software development is a goat rodeo.

Its a real issue for me. All the latest updates installed on iPhone and vehicle and still have weird shit goin on just when you don't need it. Its a damn FUBAR situation. Trading mine in as soon as I can on another Lexus RX. Liked the handling of my RDX but the continuing Infotainment problems are a pain in the ass with no end in sight.
