I am almost afraid to say this, as I am sure as soon as I do, I will have the failure to connect issue with AA in mine, BUT, I have gone a week without it happening, and that incudes about 15 to 20 start cycles, and I rarefy wait until the computer has booted, Sometimes I plug it in while it is booting, sometimes while backing out, sometimes before I start the car. I have purposely varied my approach Fingers crossed..

Any updates?

I experience the electronic squealing and freezing with CarPlay in my ‘21 TLX as well. On the latest infotainment software version. Have contacted Honda/acura multiple times and get the standard “we are aware” responses. Has anyone confirmed if this is subpar hardware or software causing this issue? Anyone heard any other updates? The beeps really do detract from the ELS audio system :/

So there have been some number of map/nav updates (we have a '19) over the years, but as for the general infotainment, etc system, which is done over-the-air (if you choose) when is the last time that was updated? I remember doing an OTA update once years ago, but that's it. I even checked a month or so ago, and no updates showed up. My car play has been 95% reliable and stable otherwise.

The last update was almost a year ago... Most likely it is the last update for 19-21, they are now focused on new generation infotenitment. My car play has occasional beeps, but most annoying problem that I could not resolve is that USB port becomes disabled if reverse is engaged while system boots. It completely disables USB port, and requires reboot to get CarPlay/USB port to work. Went with this to the dealer, even was able to reproduce it, they claimed its "normal" and I should wait for system to fully boot before engaging reverse. I've never heard such a dumb statement.

Class action lawsuit vs American Honda

American Honda settled multiple class action lawsuits over this issue. The classes were: owners of Acura vehicles such as yours
and owners of Honda SUVs.
I own a 2020 Acura RDX Advanced package SH-AWD with similar issues.
I am suing American Honda under the California lemon law and demanding full repayment due to the following defect:
American Honda has systemic design flaws and defects in the MOST Bus network in 2019 & 2020 Honda & Acura vehicles.
My experience with multiple Acura dealers is that they are not capable of rectifying these problems in the field.
The MOST Bus network fails randomly and at sporadic intervals.
This systemic defect requires replacing the MOST Bus module in the ceiling and its network of fiber optic cables throughout the vehicle.

Thanks. Yes, that reverse thing is something I learned from you. Probably for the better as now I am more apt to let the vehicle properly get some oil flowing around before putting it in gear. I don't remember an update i the last year...but who knows. There's plenty I don't remember any more....If the planets ever align, we should have the RDX in our daughters garage soon, as a gift. Of all things, we are leaning towards a Grand Cherokee if we can find what we want in inventory.

The RDX is a great car if you don't plan to use the infotainment system

The infotainment system has never worked completely right. Android Auto is generally good, but scrolling doesn't always work, again likely due to the RDX system. Not the way to earn repeat business.

So
USB Port is the culprit in my case.
Bought my RDX May 2022. As soon as i loaded up flac files on any USB drive no matter what format and file exclusions i followed here on the threads. If i left it plugged in. Yeah be ready for a world of hurting.
So now, I got lucky with a certain brand of USB drive that has been plugged in for 3 months now without any issue what so ever.
So its mind boggling how stupid the infotainment system is in a car thats double the price then a camry that could very well play any video files on their system but ours
Yup i am not investing in an acura after this, probably stick with American cars (What I should have done in the first place)
