Angry HomeLink problems

My HomeLink is not working properly. The garage door opens normally but when closing it reverses direction and retracts to the open position. I attribute the problem to HomeLinks "upgrade" where the green LED on the mirror stays on for 1 additional second after releasing the button. My wife's 2010 Lexus and my son's 2019 Mazda have no problems with the same door.

Other RDX owners must have the same issue.

I contacted HomeLink and they blame my Garage door operator. Acura Canada is refusing to assume any responsibility blaming a third-party supplier.

Any suggestions? This is extremely frustrating.

Thanks,

Eli

Have you tried deleting the garage door from the Homelink, and then re-adding it? The code may have been saved twice, so when you press the button, it actually sends the code two times confusing the garage door opener.

I have tried to delete and re-program the HomeLink. The problem is HomeLink's version 5. It "latches" the button so the RF signal to the garage door receiver is extended by 1 second. That is enough to fool the door into thinking that the driver wants to stop the closing of the door. I can simulate this condition with my original hand-held garage door fob. If I hold the button down for 2 seconds or so, the door will reverse and open up again...

All the other cars that I've tried to program don't have this "Latch" feature and the RF signal transmission stops as soon as you let go of the button. This allows you to pulse the signal and the door operates correctly.

Can anyone check their homeLink operation? Let me know if the green LED stays on AFTER you release the button.

Thanks.

My garage door and Homelink have worked perfectly in my RDX since I purchased it in Nov 2018. I agree with the previous post, delete your opener from Homelink and add it back.

I originally had issues with mine, but after clearing my garage door opener and the car and starting from scratch I managed to get it to work. Took a while though
