Google Maps on Android Auto

Does anyone have the magic formula for getting rid of the two recent routes?
If I click on the panel it sends me to a list of routes. I cannot push the pull down to the right?
Anyone else?

nope - agreed it sucks and takes up way too much of the screen. For whatever reason one of my "recent" places shows me a destination 60 miles away that I've never been to...
